Leonard (Lenny) L. Levy, MBA, CISSP, CISA Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer, Spectrum Health System

Leonard (Lenny) L. Levy is vice president, chief information security officer for Spectrum Health, a not-for-profit, integrated health system based in West Michigan. Lenny is responsible for addressing strategic and tactical security and privacy needs, including the design and implementation of technology and cybersecurity solutions that apply to a leading health system in an evolving threat landscape. Lenny provides leadership for the information security program and team which supports an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout the organization.

Background

Prior to joining Spectrum Health in 2016, Lenny developed deep expertise in information technology and cybersecurity over 17 years. This primarily came as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) LLP in the US and Singapore, where he solved complex business problems across multiple industries including health care providers, health plans, pharmaceutical and device manufactures, financial services and government. His client experience at PwC included transformational security projects, designing pragmatic cybersecurity solutions to meet business requirements, helping organizations leverage public and private clouds, addressing evolving regulatory requirements and implementing solutions to reduce risk.

He is an established seminar and conference speaker on information security and privacy topics. In addition, he has published articles on cybersecurity, cloud computing and Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in decision and information sciences from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He holds Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certifications.

Lenny has been actively involved in a number of groups including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) 405(d) Cybersecurity Task Group, United Way Cole Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society Leadership Class, Michigan Health Cybersecurity Council (MiHCC), The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and Information Systems Audit and Control Association, He previously served as co-chair for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Singapore KnowledgeNet and president of the Metro Atlanta Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).
