THERE IS MONEY TO BE MADE: LET’S PARTNER

WITH ONE OR MORE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS AND GET AFTER IT!

Did you know that annually, more than 40,000,000 square feet of parking lot pavement (new and reconstruction) is placed in Wisconsin and Michigan’s UP? That is a lot of squares – more than 575,000 cubic yards annually if every square went concrete – and market forces now in play are making it possible for concrete stakeholders trained in promoting and providing parking lot paving services to claim a profitable share.

Why don’t we partner together and get after it?

Unstable world oil markets, high asphalt costs, and growing enthusiasm for “green” building have created this emerging profit opportunity. To capitalize on it, the Statewide Promotion Committee has developed the Parking Lot Promotion Initiative (PLPI) – a strategy to develop, over a 5-year period, 80 inspired concrete parking lot contractors in Wisconsin and the UP. Strategy elements include recruitment, education, and promotion support. My reason for contacting you today is to recruit you to participate in the PLPI.

Details about the Parking Lot Promotion Initiative are enclosed. A key role you will be asked to play is Recruitment of the Vital Few – annually convincing one or more of your qualified concrete customers to attend with you, at your request and expense, a day-long parking lot promotion training program in December called the WRMCA Parking Lot Promotion Academy.

This year’s Parking Lot Promotion Academy will be held on Thursday, December 6, at MadisonAreaTechnicalCollege.

At the Parking Lot Promotion Academy, local, regional, and national experts will help you and your contractor(s) to better understand and respond profitably to the market forces currently in play. They will address parking lot design and construction issues, provide and train you and your contractor(s) to use subgrade and pavement analysis tools, and share effective team promotion tools and sales strategies.

A sample of one of the promotion tools, the association’s concrete parking lot DVD is enclosed.

I will follow up with you after you have had a chance to review the PLPI materials, to answer any questions you might have. If you are ready to join the PLPI, contact WRMCA Promotion Director Cherish Schwenn (800.242.6298 | ) and she will send you contractor recruitment materials.

PS: There really is money to be made for concrete industry stakeholders able to promote and provide concrete parking lot paving services. Let’s partner together, identify and convince one or more of your concrete contractors to attend the Parking Lot Promotion Academy on December 6, and set in motion the steps necessary for capturing a profitable share of the concrete parking lot market … for your company, and mine.
