Was born and studied in his native Turin, Italy. Moved to Seattle from Los Angeles in 1987

where he lives and makes art.

Artist member of CoCA Seattle (Center on Contemporary Art) and of ISSA (International Scratchboard Society).

Artist Statement

My art is always intended as a poetical ephemeral visionary navigation of my senses, using colors to express the conducive energy of the characters of my visual experiences. I enjoy to deconstruct the esthetic form. The fluid properties of the paint reveals to me a glimpse of a shape, a form that I can capture and let arise with my creative unintentional painterly/carving compositions.

I explore the life and influences of my characters, and their dialogues in an almost not gravitational environment, bringing forward an eclectic perception as inner medium.

The Process

The technique that I use in my process most of the time is called sgraffito ( to paint, scratch or carve on plaster or clay).

I paint and carve on clayboard, wood panel.

On my art works I apply paint (fluid acrylics and or oil bars) on pressed caoline clay boards (smooth or textured), white or black and wood panels.

I carve away color..but sometimes I add even more where I carved.

Being so flexible and original to me this becomes a vehicle in my process

that gives me freedom to approach my art work from different creative angles.

I use tools, painter knives pottery, asian and regular brushes.
