Report of the 2016 EMARI Election Committee

The 2016 EMARI Election Committee (“Committee”) received two applications for the Assistant Region Director. The Committee reviewed each candidate’s qualifications and determined they both meet the criteria for consideration for elected office as set forth in the EMARI and NSP by-laws. Therefore, the Committee approved the ballot for your consideration for following candidates for Assistant Region Director for the term of two years, beginning December, 2016:

Vince Grove, Wachusett

Position Statement:

“Cal has been a tremendous example & advocate for me in my NSP career. I would like to support his efforts as the Regional Director and contribute to making the region stronger. Specifically, I would like to increase the involvement of all mountains in addition to Wachusett. And I would like to elevate the importance of advanced OEC training and the participation in the OEC Senior program.”

Resume Attached.

Matthew Haddad, Wachusett

Position Statement:

“My desire to become more involved with the region that has trained me over the past 12 years has led me to this junction where I would like to be considered for the vacant Assistant Region Director opportunity. Becoming the Assistant Region Director would allow me to bring my experience as a patroller, hill captain, OEC instructor and business professional to the constituency thereby helping to contribute toward future growth in the region. I believe my involvement will help to further strength the bond between not only the individual patrols and patrollers but as conduit for the sharing of best practices in patient care and patroller education.”
