Hours: 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday

(with possibly a total of 12 late evenings over the fixed term of employment)

Salary:£23,000 per annum

Description of role:

Youwill support the delivery of the third year of London360; a regular TV and online magazine news show produced by young Londoners aged 18-25 which will air on new local London TV station London Live. It champions untold local stories, London's hidden communities, compelling community-based campaigns, and the latest entertainment news and provides an alternative viewpoint on the capital’s news agenda.

Reporting to the Executive Producer and Manager, you will be involved in the coordination of the editorial output produced by London360’s team of in-house reporters. You will also be responsible for engaging 18-25 year olds from across London to become London360’s community journalists to create reports and blogs for the online platform.

Working with the Creative Media department, you will create partnerships with youth media organisations to recruit young aspiring journalists In parallel, you will engage professional journalists to train and mentor the community journalists to support them to create their community-based media.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the recruitment of the team of in-house reporters.
  • manage Exec Producers diary
  • Coordination of production schedules, the equipment booking system and assist with post-production.
  • Assist in the production and postproduction of London360 working along side the Executive Producer and editor.
  • Provide editorial support for the in house team of reporters
  • Attend weekly editorial meetings with reporters and provide editorial support for London360 content
  • Research, engage and manage youth organisation partners, charities and community groups, universities and local authorities.
  • Recruit, engage and support 100 young people (18-25) as community, journalists.
  • Coordinate training for the community journalists.
  • Recruit professional journalists as mentors for the community journalists.
  • Arrange mentoring and attend mentoring sessions for the community journalists.
  • Support community journalists in producing video and written content, and lead on editorial for community journalists section on London 360 website.
  • Coordinate media training and mentoring sessions for young people, delivering to targets.
  • Manage data collection and monitor the progress of the project against funder requirements.
  • Lead on the reporting and evaluation of the project, including writing case studies.

Person specification

  • Experience of production coordination and managing editorial content for onlineand broadcast.
  • Direct experience of working with communities and young people on digital media projects and a good understanding of these groups.
  • Experience of coordinating and monitoring projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with people from all levels e.g. media, charities and young people.
  • Excellentplanning, organisational, administration and reporting skills.
  • Good understanding of the charity and media sectors, especially digital media and broadcasting.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of London’sdiverse communities.
