Report Employment Income – Centrelink online account

Once you have logged into myGov and selected your Centrelink online account, select ‘Report employment income’.

Your Reporting page will now be displayed. Here you can see what period you’re reporting for as well as a list of recent employers.

You must report by 5pm (local time) on your reporting date to prevent any delays in your payment. You cannot report before this date.

If the employer you or your partner has worked for in the reporting period is listed, select the ‘pencil’ icon next to the employer’s name.

It is important to remember that you must complete your report each fortnight, even if you have had no income for the reporting period.

Enter the amount you have earned before tax for your reporting period, as well as the number of hours worked, rounded to the nearest hour. Then select ‘Done’.

To add a new employer, select ‘Add new employer’.

The easiest way to add a new employer is by using their 11 digit Australian Business Number, or ABN.

Type in the ABN and select ‘Find’, or if you don’t have the ABN, type in the ‘Employer name’. Then select ‘Add’.

Enter your earnings before tax and hours worked for the new employer, then select ‘Done’.

The Summary will display the earnings you’ve provided for both you and your partner.

If you have Mutual ObligationRequirements, you must also advise if you have met the requirements in your ‘Job Plan’.

Select ‘Job Plan’ if you need more information, or select the ‘Help’ icon.

If you’ve met your Mutual Obligation Requirements as set out in your ‘Job Plan’, select ‘Yes’ then select ‘Submit’.

A final summary of the details you have entered will be displayed, along with a declaration. If any details are incorrect, select ‘Cancel’ to go back and correct your details.

Once you have checked your details and read the declaration, select ‘Accept Declaration and Submit’.

Your report has now been submitted. The Receipt page provides a receipt number, as well as your next payment details and reporting dates.

You can also see details of the information you’ve provided by selecting the ‘Information you have provided’ link.

Select ‘Return to home’ to return to your Centrelink online account home page.

Once you are back on your Centrelink online account homepage you can complete many other transactions as required, or you can return to your myGov account.

Remember, for your privacy and security, always ensure you ‘sign out’ when you’ve finished using your myGov account.
