Introduction

This document demonstrates how Blest Are We, Parish Edition, supports the Diocese of Lafayette Religion Curriculum Guidelines. Correlation page references are to the Blest Are We Child’s Book (CB) and Catechist Guide or Teacher Edition (CG or TE).

Blest Are We, Parish Edition, is designed to engage children and their families in faith formation.

The Child’s Book

Every chapter in Levels 1-6 begins with Family Time and provides a choice of things to do at home to prepare for the chapter. Information, activities, and prayer are included for the entire family. The Child’s Book is available with Family Time pages in English or Spanish

Every chapter in Levels 7 & 8 begins with Get Connected with Family and Friends. Interesting features help youth get ready for the upcoming chapter with facts, stories, brainteasers, All-Star Profiles, Web site references, and much more.

The Catechist Guide

The Catechist Guide is an east-to-use Guide that provides everything a catechist needs to prepare and share the faith. The Guide includes a complete introduction to the role of the catechist as well as practical ideas for sharing Blest Are We with children and their families.

Chapter Preparation begins with the opportunity to learn more about the theme followed by prayer and reflection.
