IMPORTANT - Please ensure all sections of this application are completed.

●The ACTRA student prize is offered for outstanding research efforts in the field of toxicology and/or risk assessment, or ecotoxicology.

●The Student Prize is awarded to one person only per year; therefore applications for entry will be competitively assessed.

●Applications will be assessed both on merit and submission date. Early submission of applications is recommended.

●The student prize consists of one free conference registration (including dinner) to the ACTRA ASM on 22-23 September 2016, plus $500 towards expenses. The prize does not include registration to the ACTRA Continuing Education day on September 21 2016.

Section 1: Student Prize eligibility

Please indicate which of the eligibility criteria you meet (circle relevant dot point). Proof of eligibility needs to be attached to your application:

●Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree conducting original research in the field of toxicology / risk assessment / ecotoxicology

●Currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree conducting original research in the field of toxicology / risk assessment / ecotoxicology

●A recent undergraduate or postgraduate student who conducted original research in the field of toxicology / risk assessment /ecotoxicology. (A recent graduate is taken to mean the relevant degree was successfully conferred within 12 months of application to the student Prize.)

Section 2: Research Project

Submit a brief description (750 words) of your research and how it contributes to advances in toxicology and/or risk assessment, or ecotoxicology. All submissions will be anonymously reviewed and assessed by a pre-selected panel of ACTRA members. They will be scored against assessment criteria. Cognisance will be given to:

●Formatting of submission (including adherence to word count; imaginative use of figures, references or tables etc.)

●Provision of justification for importance of research

●Readability and easy to follow

●Innovativeness of research and potential scientific impact

Section 3: Checklist

 I have completed and attached a description of my research which adheres to the requirements above

 I have attached supporting documentation to confirm my current/recent enrolment in the relevant degree
e.g. scanned copy of my student ID, enrolment papers, conferral certificate of degree, supporting letter, etc

 I understand that if accepted, I will need to present my research at the ACTRA ASM in the designated time slot allocated to me

 If unsuccessful I would like to submit my student prize application as an abstract to the ASM

Section 4: Successful Candidates

Successful Candidates will be allocated a time to orally present their work at the ACTRA ASM and will be presented with their prize and a certificateat the conference. They will also be asked to submit a photograph for publication of their success in the ACTRA E-newsletter.
