Version date: December 16, 2013

New disclaimer text
The hyperlink (“more information here”) in the disclaimer text points to (in the production version of the software, the link will point to the same url, without ‘acc’.)

As a side effect of making this hyperlink work, the mailto-link at the end of the disclaimer text is now a functional link as well.

New prices
The default prices, etc in the preferences are updated according to the table below.

Note, however, that these values will only be applied in new installations of the software. Existing installations will continue using the existing values.

TODO
The country dependent CO2 emission factors still have to be changed in the central database. Changing these values will not require a new version of the Simulator software.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.35

Version date: December 3, 2013

TopDesk incidents
131203-035: The initial load of VRT-models was not calculated correctly. Fixed.

131126-046: Recalculation of gas price when switching from from E/m3 to E/kWh or vice versa.

131203-036: The initial connection ratio of VRV IV CLASSIC models was set to 130%, which is an invalid value. This resulted in ‘flat’ graphs.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.34

Version date: November 26, 2013

TopDesk incidents
130527-053: The application now is digitally signed.

131126-041: When switching the gas price unit from E/m3 to E/kWh or vice versa, the price is multiplied by or divided by the calorific value.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.31

Version date: November 22, 2013

TopDesk incidents
131121-033: The application hides heat recovery models. Altherma Flex models are renamed to ‘Air cooled heat pump’, and their ability to work with heat recovery is switched off.

Report
The report now includes the Daikin logo and a page number on each page.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.27

Version date: November 21, 2013

TopDesk incidents
131018-030: The information button now shows the correct hyperlinks for all series EXCEPT the EBHQ-BV3-series.

Other fixes
The computed heating capacity for Altherma models was 0 kW for ambient min/max. This led to situations as shown in this screen print:

In this case, the heating load of the system was 0 kW and could only be increased by adding a backup heater. This behavior is fixed.

TopDesk incidentsRelease notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.25

Version date: November 20, 2013

TopDesk incidents
131018-026: (un)checking VRT did reset slider values. Now it leaves slider values untouched.

131028-028: The application now shows the sum of the heat load and cool load in the solutions if the differ too much.

131106-032: Constant heat/cool load sliders now cannot go higher than the available capacity.

Other fixes
Custom building types now can be modified after they were saved.

The title of the machine section was incorrect for non-daikin heaters. The application always showed ‘Backup heater: none’, even if a back-up heater was selected. Now the correct title is shown.

The application now show correctly on which date it will stop working.

Database reorganization
The product families, application types, series and models are reorganized. The now each have a code and a name. The code is an unique, immutable, identifier for the record. The name is what is shown in the application.

This reorganization allowed us to show the ‘bare’ model code for the Daikin Altherma models that can be operated both as heat pump and as heating only model, instead of ‘EBHQ006BAV3–LTHP-S’ or something similar.

In short: the reorganization allows changing the names of product families, application types, series and models without further consequences.

Apart from this technical reorganization, the existing Daikin Altherma series (‘Monobloc’ and ‘Split’) were replaced by the series from tbl_AlthOutdoorUnit (‘EBHQ-BV3’ and so on). The names of these series are decorated with either ‘Monobloc’or ‘Split’. This change was required because the Information-button in the Seasonal Simulator needs to point to different web pages for each new series.

131016-013: The heating area of the backup system was not displayed in some scenarios.

131003-031: (partially fixed): The labels on the results page were changed (‘heat recovery mode’ instead of ‘heat recovery savings’), but the heat recovery savings are not yet presented explicitly on screen.

131018-025: Evaporating temperature in ‘C instead of %.

131015-052: CO2 emission calculation for gas and fuel corrected.

131017-012: Electricity tab in preferences screen now has a scrollbar.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.20

Version date: October 14, 2013

TopDesk incidents
The following topdesk incidents were fixed:
131007-034 – Error when selecting a VRV Watercooled ‘30% Brine’ or ‘40% Brine’ model.

130927-006 – Max. value of connection ratio for Altherma Flex models.

131003-017 – Design evaporating temperature can no longer be changed by the user. The drop down list is replaced by a label.

130527-060 – The user now has to accept the disclaimer on every change of the major or minor part of the version. Changes in the build or release part does not force renewed acceptance of the disclaimer.

131003-016 – Error in VRT results for design evaporating temperatures of 9 or 11 degrees Celcius.

131010-14 – Gas connection cost unit was changed to ‘EUR/year’.

Design section
(TopDesk130927-018, 130927-035, 131003-002, 131007-053, 130927-052)
A number of changes have been made in the design graph logic. The behavior of the design graph is now mostly in accordance with what was discussed on 10/10/2013.

-The range of the x-axis is that of the climate, extended with 5 degrees on both sides (the amount is a fixed setting in this version, but we could add this setting to the preferences screen).

-The heating slider cannot exceed the capacity line, unless there’s a back-up heater.

-The cooling slider can never exceed the capacity line.

-The lower bound of the main system heating operation range cannot be changed by the user unless there’s a back-up heater

-The upper bound of the main system cooling operation range cannot be changed by the user.

-If constant heat load > 0 in a non-heat recovery system, the cooling load is set to 0 (and vice versa).

-The heat recovery zone is now displayed correctly for constant heat load and constant cool load.

Known graph related issues:

-Scenario: select a VRV Air cooled heat pump system with a back-up system. The user can now increase the value of the heating load slider above the maximal capacity of the main system. This is correct: the back-up system should fill in the missing capacity.
However, if ‘optimize for seasonal efficiency’ is checked, the capacity graph gets adjusted in such a way that it stays above the load triangle:

-An Altherma system without back-up heater cannot be designed. The maximal capacity of the system at ambient min is zero. The allowed heating load cannot exceed the maximum capacity. Hence, the heating load cannot be set to a value greater than zero:

Prolonged life span till October 7.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.13

Version date: September 24, 2013

Introduction
This is the first version that is meant for testing by end users. Most of the core functionality has been built, and most of the VRV, Daikin Altherma and Daikin Altherma Flex models can be used. Loading and saving projects and report generation are not complete yet. The open and save buttons have been removed temporarily. Reports can be generated, but they contain hardly any data.

System page
Advanced settings sections for VRV Water cooled, Daikin Altherma and Daikin Altherma Flex.
The expanders are ‘expanded’ by default (instead of collapsed).

Calculation
Many improvements, esp. for the purpose of VRV Watercooled and Altherma (Flex) models.

Results page, Compare page, return on investment
Complete.

Google analytics
Google analytics data of the production and the acceptation version of the application can now be investigated with the same Google account.

Models
Some models are missing (VRV air cooled heat recovery, Daikin Altherma Split).
The division of Daikin Altherma Monobloc models in application types and series was not clear. Those models are for the time being duplicated in different application types and series.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.11

Version date: September 16, 2013

Preferences window
The preferences window now contains settings for gas, oil and pellet prices. The default values are ‘found on the Internet’ and are not final!

Calculation
Further improved.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.9

Version date: September 13, 2013

Graphs, calculation
The calculation is improved, although it is not perfect yet. Some known issues:

-Constant heat load and constant cool load are not shown in the design graph.

-The results page shows zeroes for the secondary systems.

Models
The model collection in the application is almost complete. VRV air cooled heat recovery models are still missing. There were no Altherma split models present in daikin.mdb, only monobloc models, and therefore the only Altherma series in the application is called ‘monobloc’.

Heat recovery
Heat recovery can be tested with the VRV water cooled heat recovery models.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.8

Version date: September 11, 2013

Graphs, calculation
This version contains the first attempts to connect the calculation module to the user interface. The user interface as such is pretty much unchanged compared to the previous version.

The calculation isn’t perfect yet. For example, the graphs sometimes show a secondary system even if none is specified, while the results page and the compare page never show results for a secondary system, even if one is specified.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.7

Version date: September 6, 2013

Fixes
Some fixes in the machine section

Design section
Currently not working. We are in the midst of connecting the new calculation software to the new UI.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.5

Version date:September 3, 2013

Load profiles
Load profile properties are added to the application type table, and used by the application.
Almost all product families, application types and series have been added to the database, but the database contains ONLY the existing VRV models. The explicitely set load profiles from version 2.0.0.4 have been removed. This means that right now the load profiles cannot be tested.

System tab

System tab: temperatures
New section. Contains the dual set point / system off checkboxes and the indoor temperature sliders that previously lived in the design section.

Results tab
The order of the bars in the seasonal efficiency graph has been corrected.

Compare tab
All graphs have been added.

Note: the graphs on the results tab and the compare tab still contain random data.

Release notes Seasonal Simulator (acc) 2.0.0.4

Multilinguality
Most of the UI can now be translated.
A translator can preview concept translations in the application. They become available for selection by pressing Ctrl-Shift-P in the preferences window.

Preferences window
Unchanged (apart from concept translation preview)

Main window
Open, save, save as, new buttons added. Not all of the data in a project gets saved and restored in this version. Detecting if the project is ‘dirty’ (and thus should be saved) only in a rudimentary version.

Project tab
New.

Location tab
CO2-emission factor has been removed here.

Building tab
No changes

Solution tab, ‘+’ button
The user can add and remove solutions.

System tab, ‘+’ button
