-PDX: Bob Coleman stepped down, elections will happen by Feb

-SFO: Debbie Edwards/Panelpina, new president, working on educational programs & offering Mission scholarships for three members at $1,000 each.

-LAX: upcoming elections, likely to be Mark Herzle (MIQ) as President, replacing V. Iacopella

-SD: Maria Wessels/Paxton, Shreve & Hays, Inc., new president

-PCC Mission to DC: March 9 – 11 GET REGISTERED

-NCBFAA Conference: April 6 – 9 @ Red Rocks Resort, NV

-CBIFFAWS Membership Drive ongoing

-Applications received for two new members, Yusen Logistics Maria Abrenaught

Motion made by Anne-Marie Bush of Veritrade Intl to accept Abrenaught as an associate member. Seconded by Michael Benjaminson, Robert E Landweer. Approved Unannamously.

Yusen Logistics check has not been received yet. It was decided by the membership that we would vote at this meeting however the vote would not go into effect until payment was received. A motion was made by Anne-Marie Bush of Veritrade Intl to accept Yusen Logistics as a regular member, seconded by Sylvia Scherer. Approved Unannamously.

-Should there be an open membership deadline? Deadline set for end of Feb.

-Meet & Greet re: membership drive – 7 new members in 2013, possibly in May, after conferences and regular membership drive, possibly have associate members donate raffle prizes and / or beverage tickets. We could look for a patio venue or fun activity to attract a larger group.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

-Education: H. Bebbington has been speaking with John @ F&W, waiting to hear back from Marcus @ CPSC.

-Legislative: Farm Bill passed House and Senate, Adam Smith to create domestic transport tax to improve infrastucture; any domestic move will be tax, difficulties in determining where the ‘domestic’ portion starts in international transactions

-GSP may be added to Reorganization Bill, June / July will be the earliest; the longer it is postponed, the less likely there will be refund on duties paid

APN: notices, CBP trade meetings will now be quarterly, 4/8 in Tacoma, those not at National should attend

National: requested sponsorship from the CBIFFAWS, voted & declined

-Customs: entry division to be moved to CEE’s; KPAC gave up CES, reviews / bidding for CES updated and posted on the CBIFFAWS.org site; new ACE reports, sending input to Gary and he will send this on; CBP pushing for brokers to be using ACE; ISF penalties, 19 have been issued so far, penalties coming from Houston and Mobile

-Role of the Broker: current permitting pending changes, COAC suggests districts limited to 7, unless there is input, NCBFAA & PCC will follow CBP instruction – surveys have been sent out to all membership

-MJ @ DHL to work with Debbie & Heather on setting up Q&A session @ the next membership meeting

-Area 6 Rep: 2 new NCBFAA members, Sound Brokerage & Allports Forwarding in Portland, Brenda Barnes will be on the Transportation Committee

-Golf Tournament: 08/12, golf course has not been decided, sponsorship drive is beginning
