REGULAR BOARD MEETING OZARK, ALABAMA May 13, 2015

The Dale County Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 4:30 p.m., in the Board Room of the Dale County Government Building. Braxton Bell, Board President, presided over the meeting with members Larry Ezell, Dale Sutton, Bill McSween, Don Williams, Superintendent Donny Bynum and James Tarbox, Board Attorney, present.

1.  The meeting was called to order by President Braxton Bell.

2.  Approval of Agenda.

3.  Approval of Minutes

a.  Regular Board Meeting, April 12, 2015

Motion – Bill McSween, Second – Don Williams, carried.

4.  Visitors

a.  Lisa Till

Ms. Till spoke to the Board regarding the South Dale Middle School Jr Beta Club and the upcoming National Convention.

No action required.

b.  Dan Strickland

Mr. Dan Strickland, International Exchange Coordinator recognized G W Long High School for hosting foreign exchange students.

No action required.

5.  Approval of Bills and Accounts

Motion – Larry Ezell, Second – Bill McSween, carried.

6.  Financial Statements/Bank Reconciliations

The Superintendent presented the recent financial statement to the Board and informed them all bank accounts had been reconciled through March 2015.

No action required.

7.  Executive Session

The Superintendent informed the Board of the need for an executive session to discuss character and good name of an employee. Board Attorney James Tarbox certified this was a viable reason for an executive session.

Motion – Dale Sutton, Second – Don Williams, carried.

Board President Bell entertained a motion to return to regular session with no action being taken in executive session.
