Role Guide / Care @ Carers Resource provides domiciliary care and sitting services across the organisation. The Manager overseeing the Harrogate area will support the management and development of the service in Harrogate, whilst being a member of the management team at Care @ which will include being on-call.
The Registered Manager is responsible for ensuring that the service meets the fundamental standards and Key Lines of Enquiry, maintaining quality and working as part the management team to continually improve services. You will be motivated and able to provide advice and guidance and manage a staff team through regular supervision, training and team meetings. Assessing needs and risk to ensure a safe service is delivered, updating personalised care plans, personal profiles and updating rota’s on the IT database to ensure individual’s needs are met.
Relating to your role
Under the provision of care standards ensure that the service meets the highest standards and the requirements of the national care standards
Seeks to recruit care staff to work principally in the Craven area, inducting and training to standard required and professional boundaries between staff and customers are maintained.
Ensure that the staff team are supported and delivering services in line with policies and procedures observing practice as a framework for good practice.
Ensure assessments and risk assessments are completed ensuring a safe but not risk adverse service is delivered, completing person centred care plans and updating as Supports carers who may not have benefitted from Sitting Services and domiciliary care previously to access Care @ Carers Resource.
Contribute to the achievement of performance targets through the Quality Policy.
Engage with carers and cared for to develop a trusting relationship, reviewing services to ensure person centred and meeting their needs, supporting the carer to access other services including health, welfare benefits and other services delivered by the Carers’ Resource.
Liaises with other professionals to bring about positive change for the carer and their cared for.
Keeps up to date on current and emerging legislation and local and national policy – using the information sources available.
Manages the Support Workers including regular supervision, personal development reviews.
Ensures there are opportunities for communication and training for Support Workers at the required intervals.
Develops the quality of the service to be outstanding – through regular spot checks and reviews with Support Workers and clients.
Helps the Head of Care Provision understand the gaps in services, seeking to address new methods of filling them, and the impact this has on carers.
Supports other localities during times of sickness and holiday.
Manages the on-call phone in rotation with other managers.
