Addendum to the supplemental regulations for St. Louis Region SCCA August Regional/National Races
Gateway DASH
*Double Award Summer Handicap*
St. Louis Region SCCA presents the fourth annual Gateway DASH, offering
bonus pursuit style race to SRFSpec Miata-Improved Touring-SSB-SSC-T2-T3 Drivers
Saturday July 31, at the conclusion of the regular Mid-Am Regional racing.
More seat time, more worker excitement, and fat cash prizes are the cure for the summertime blues!
The format will be a 15 lap, inverted field, standing start pursuit, with faster qualifiers held back to achieve theoretical parity of overall finishing time.
$10 ENTRY FEE, ALL WILL BE GIVEN BACK IN PRIZE MONEY
To add to the excitement, all registered SCCA workers will be randomly assigned as teammates for a registered driver. The team associated with the overall winner will share a cash prize, and join the winning driver on the podium for a Champaign celebration!
The following CASH prizes will be awarded:
$125 FIRST PLACE; $75 SECOND PLACE; $50 THIRD PLACE
Additionally, the winning worker team will share a prize of $100 cash
!!!!!!!Fine print for drivers: !!!!!!!
All drivers must register for the DASH.. Drivers must be entered in the Saturday Mid-Am Regional to participate in the DASH. Qualifying position will be determined by the handicapping committee based primarily on fastestrace lap from the Regional race (your fastest Regional lap will then be your Qualifying time). The handicapping committee will also consider special circumstances, past results, and gut instinct to make every effort to ensure a fair grid. Sandbagging and other shenanigans will be looked upon harshly and times may be adjusted accordingly. No series points will be awarded for this race.
Despite the fact that there is cash on the line, entrants are reminded that this bonus race is for F-U-N! Decisions of the handicapping committee are final, irrevocable and non-protestable! Terms subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply. Your mileage may vary. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead is purely coincidental. Disclaimers are a lot of fun. Except for the part about non-protestable, we're serious about that. Drivers will be gridded at the end of the hot pits in reverse order of qualifying time. Standing start for first (slowest car) followed at a proscribed interval for each following car. Winner is first car to complete 15 laps. Theoretically all cars will cross the finish line at the same time, but we are betting that won’t happen. Pit speed limit of 45 mph will apply, violators will be penalized. Top three finishers may be impounded for verification of compliance with applicable class requirements. This race is under the control and discretion of the Chief Steward who may modify or amend these rules at any time (and at his personal whim).
Gateway SRF Challenge
The St. Louis Region SCCA presents their first “Challenge” Race on Sunday August 1.
We are inviting all SRF drivers to participate in this unique opportunity to add a little excitement to our National racing.
If we get 15 or more SRF starters for our National race on Sunday August 1st, then we will institute this challenge race.
We will split out all the SRF’s into their own run group.
The region will also be providing the following contingency money to the SRF drivers based on their finishing position in the National race.
1st place - $100
2nd place - $50
3rd place - $30
All other drivers will receive $20 just for participating.
Pick up contingency money at Hospitality
Additional Info:
This race will be held under the National race sanction and all rules and regulations pertaining to National racing will apply. SRF will be listed in the run group with FP, HP, and GTL on our supplemental regulations. The Chief Steward will split SRF into their own group after it has been verified that we have achieved the necessary entrants. If we have fewer than 15 SRF’s registered, then we will leave the run groups as stated on the supplemental regulations and no contingency money will be paid out.
