Scouting for Food Helping Neighbors in Need

April is Scouting for Food month and Three Rivers AAHAM has an opportunity to help families in need throughout the region by participating in the Scouting for Food drive.

Food banks in the communities help more than 300,000 individuals each year. You can help by making a donation of nonperishable food and common household items. Donations made through Scouting for Food drive will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Scouting for Food is a program of the Greater Pittsburgh Council of the Boy Scouts of America and United Way.

Three Rivers AAHAM is offering a special Buy One/Get One Free Registration for all provider members. If you are a current member, you can bring a co-worker to our April 22, 2016 meeting when you donate items for the Food Drive.

History

Begun in 1987 in response to an urgent request from the food bank, more than 250,000 people enjoy participating in the Boy Scouts’ community-wide Good Turn project. Since the first drive over 115 million units of food and household products have been collected by employees of accounting firms, universities and colleges, government agencies, companies, organizations, students, and Boy Scouts.

Make a difference

The need to reduce the issue of hunger in our communities will be even more crucial during 2016. You are invited to join the 2016 Scouting for Food drive at our Spring meeting on Friday, April 22, 2016.Participation is worthwhile and remains easy.

.

Plan on attending the meeting with a co-worker and participate in this important community-wide project to help feed needy people.
