Region 4 Conference Information Packet

9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Location:Arizona State University - Polytechnic Campus

(7001 E. Williams Field Road - Mesa, AZ 85212)

Cost:Student - $25 (includes lunch)

Adviser/Chaperone - $0 (only if they work at the conference)

Food:Lunch will be provided.

Events:Each student may participate in3 events at the conference (No more than 2 performance events).

Students are limited to 2 performance events (team or individual). An event list is provided at the end of this document.

  • Number of competitors for each school:
  • Written tests – unlimited(up to 3)
  • Skill events – unlimited(up to 1 in place of a test)
  • Performance Events for Quad A & C (can’t be from the same Quad)
  • Limit 2 per event if less than 25 members at regional
  • Limit 3 per event if 25-49 members at regional
  • Limit 4 if 50 or more members at regional
  • Limit 5 if 75 or more members at regional
  • Performance Events for Quad B & D (can’t be from the same Quad)
  • Limit 1 per event if less than 25 members at regional
  • Limit 2 per event if 25-49 members at regional
  • Limit 3 if 50 or more members at regional
  • Limit 4 if 75 or more members at regionals
  • The following events require pre-judged materials – link to information is included in online registration confirmation:
  • Computer Applications and Word Processing (Skill-Individual)
  • Computer Game & Simulation Programming, & E-Business(Skill-Team)
  • Coding & Programming, Digital Video Production, Website Design (Performance-Team)
  • Job Interview and Future Business Leader competitors are required to bring 3 copies of their resume and cover letter to the conference. Students will give these items directly to the judges. Do not send in these materials for these two events to the state office.
  • Battle of the Chapters and Business Graphics will be offered at this conference.
  • Look at the Arizona FBLA Events at a Glance for Regionals to note all event information.

Deadlines:Online registration will open on December 4, 2017.

Online registration will close on January 12, 2018.

All pre-judged materials must be received by January 11, 2018.

Workshops:Workshop sessions will be offered at various times during the conference and members are encouraged to attend.

MOD:We will be having a March of Dimes Activity – encourage your members to bring their spare change; they could win prizes!

Chapter Sign: Bring your chapter sign to the conference. Your chapter president will carry your sign across the stage during the Parade of Presidents.

  • Recommendations for Chapter Sign are:
  • include state theme – “Fuel Your Future”
  • size limit – poster board size – foam boards work best
  • hand drawn or computer generated
  • Any materials may be included on the sign.(NO GLITTER)

Awards:The top 3 winners in each event will be recognized as long as there are at least 4 entries per event. There are no finals at Regionals – we will use an equalization formula to determine the winners (if there are multiple rooms for an event).
