FOOD SERVICE FACT SHEET

* All schools use a point-of-sale computer system to track meal sales. All students are automatically set up with an account. This system tracks all deposits and deducts purchases. Student numbers remain the same from K – 12.
*EZschoolPay.com is available to monitor balance and/or deposit money online.
* In order to keep the serving line moving, we encourage you to send cash or check to be deposited into your account. You can do this daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, however we ask you deposit at least enough for one week. Obviously, depositing money daily into your account will be very time consuming.
* We encourage all students to maintain a balance in their account. If a student’s balance falls short, we will allow charging on a limited basis. Sending out charge notices and constantly reminding students is cumbersome, so please pay off charges promptly. No student will be allowed to charge snack items. Please reference charge policy attached.
* Low balance automated calls will be made to your contacts listed on Sapphire.
* Students can check balances at any time by calling 570-742-7687. Students will be notified through the lunch line when their account balance is low and they need to bring in more money. You can help by paying attention to your deposits and gauging when it is time to replenish your child’s account.
* At year end, all balances will be rolled over for the start of the next school year.Senior balances will be transferred to a sibling, if applicable, or refunded if over $2.00 remains.
* If you do not want your child to purchase extras, please call the Food Service office to block their account. 570-742-7687
* Students eligible for free meals will be automatically coded in the system. This will allow one breakfast and one lunch to be put on the account daily. If a free student wishes to buy snacks or extra, they will need to deposit money into the account. No charging of snack items will be allowed.
* Students eligible for reduced meals will be automatically coded in the system and will need to deposit money monthly.
* There will be a $50.00 charge for any returned checks.
ALL STUDENTS ON FREE OR REDUCED WILL NEED TO FILL OUT A NEW APPLICATION BY THE SECOND WEEK OF SCHOOL WHEN THE TEMPORARY ELIGIBILITY RUNS OUT. THIS YEAR WE ARE REQUIRING ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMITTAL. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED INSTRUCTION SHEET.
