GOVT HELP LINE: 0800 77 999 7 and see

COUNCIL: 03 941-8999 and EQC: 0800 326 243

WATER: outside Redcliffs BP (24/7; needs boiling; sanitise hands before touching taps; bottles available). Sumner (Hardwick and Colenso) or Mt Pleasant (Major Hornbrook Rd), both 9-4.

Some clean bottled water is at the Redcliffs InfoPoint for those with no power. If your water/power is on, still quick-boil water (necessary for next fortnight as the chlorination flushes through). The hill reservoirs are being filled and the pipes being checked.

SEWERAGE: be sparing with your flushing -- check your sewer lines are intact! We’re trying to get more portaloos, specially for Beachville and Celia (still mostly waterless). Avoid contact with surface water, rain puddles. Keep washing hands or using sanitiser after toileting, pet contact or before food prep. Sanitiser is available at the InfoPoint – try to bring own containers.

POWER: Mostly live from Sumner to McCormacks Bay. Power on in parts of Augusta St, James, Taupata, Bayview, Wakatu, Monck’s Spur. Beachville, Celia and parts of Main Rd are still without. Orion working hard and hoping for success in next couple of days but each fault found takes 12 hours to fix. Check the power/water map at the InfoPoint and let us know how it is where you are.

Free checks and electrician advice from Electrical Contractors Association: 0800 506 688

CHARGE CELLPHONES: use plug box at Redcliffs InfoPoint by Telecom generator.

CORDONED/CLIFFTOP AREAS: If a house is red-stickered, you should NOT enter. If a cordon is up, you should not cross it. Once the cordon comes down, you can enter your property if it has NOT been red-stickered -- use your discretion and at your own risk. Now there is concentration on geotechnical issues, to minimise cordons, assess house status, and allow safe access.

First up is Raekura Pl. The cordon is likely to be pulled back to around the rest home.

Tues/Wed: Egnot Heights and above, Taupata/Augusta Sts, Balmoral Lane. The Egnot area has one house red-stickered for geo-tech reasons, 3-4 for structural damage. The crack across the road is a fill failure, not a geological one; may need some remedial work on the crib wall. More info to come.

Wed-Fri: Sumner, Mt Pleasant, St Andrews. Clifton has roading cracks which hold concern for vehicular use but has been open. Kinsey Tce looks OK at the far end; some concern re the front.

Info on the cordons and their placement will be made available as we learn it. Let us know if you learn something from a reliable source, e.g. see a cordon has been removed!

If you have concerns of a geotechnical nature (eg cracks, rockfalls), call the Council line (941 8999) and ask for geotech help. If you want to know about evacuated areas and returns, contact Civil Defense.
