Recognition for working with volunteers

Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO) has recently achieved the Investing in Volunteers quality standard, in recognition of the excellent work they do with volunteers.

“PAVO's Powys Volunteer Centre are delighted to announce we have been awarded the Investors in Volunteers Quality Mark! It will ensure our volunteers and volunteer involving organisations will have confidence in the work we do and know the support we give them will be of a high standard and bespoke to their needs to provide worthwhile volunteer opportunities and placements” Hannah Lake Powys Volunteer Centre Officer / Swyddog Canolfan GwirfoddoliPowys

Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for all organisations which involve volunteers in their work and ensures that your volunteer management structure is adhering to good practice.

It aims to improve the quality of volunteering experience for volunteers and to encourage organisations to better recognise the enormous contribution made by volunteers. Investing in Volunteers is managed in Wales by Wales Council for Voluntary Action.
PAVO was assessed against a range of best practice standards and proved to excel in all aspects of working with its volunteers.

“PAVO is delighted to be associated with such a respected and significant Quality Assurance Award and will use our success to lead the way with voluntary organisations throughout Powys, encouraging them to embrace IiV, helping to make them more robust, demonstrating the value of volunteering and inspiring more people to volunteer. We shall display our award with pride and continue to cultivate the quality of our work with volunteers.”
