Tic-Tac- Toe

Directions: Select three assignments to complete over your realistic fiction novel. You must select one assignment from each category.This assignment is due Monday, December 7th.

Artistic Response / Comparative Response / Creative Written Response
Create a Book Mark illustrating a symbol that would best represent the theme of the novel. – Explain what your symbol is and how it relates to the book in a paragraph on the back of your bookmark.
*Remember Theme- the life lesson the reader learns after reading a piece of literature. / Find a poem that relates to the theme of your book. Explain 3 similarities.
--Attach a copy of the poem
Each similarity should be fully explained and developed in a paragraph.
Total= 3 paragraphs when completed! / Write a letter to a movie producer trying to get that person interested in making your book into a movie.(minimum three paragraphs)
Use the criteria for business letters in the Writing Coach pg 282 “Letter of Request”. Use evidence from the novel to support your persuasive arguments.
Create a "wanted" poster for one of the characters or objects in your book. On the back explain in one paragraph what details make this character special or unique in the novel.
* Search for examples of Wanted Posters. / Find a song that relates to the novel. Explain 3 similarities.

Total= 3 paragraphs when completed! / Write about one of the characters’ life twenty years from now. Think about how this character might change/grow mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc.. Select three ways the character would change/grow and develop a paragraph for each. Use evidence from the novel to support your opinions.
Illustrate the most suspenseful scene in the novel. Explain on the back of your illustration in one paragraph why this scene is the most suspenseful. / Compare the novel read to another novel. (The other novel may be something you have already read, and it does not have to be another Realistic Fiction novel.) Explain 3 comparisons.
-You must include the title and author of second novel.
-Each similarity should be fully explained and developed in a paragraph.
Total= 3 paragraphs when completed! / Be a TV or radio reporter, and give a report of a scene from the book as if it is happening "live". Use evidence from the novel to support your report. Your news report should be written in dialogue, give specific descriptions detailing the scene selected, and be at least one page long.
