Dear Fellow Scouters:

If you attended the recent North Star District Camporee or the Roundtable, you are already aware that our district will be holding the first ever district-wide Community Service Project. If you weren’t at either of these events, and didn’t receive a call from us, please let this letter and flyer serve as your notice of the event.

Not only are we going to be the first district to hold a Community-wide “Pay it Forward” Community Service Day, it is our aim to spread this through-out the United States so that a National Day will be created where all boy scouts, in all communities around our country, come out in force to “pay it forward”, help people, and show our communities what we are all about.

This is going to be a WIN – WIN – WIN for one and all.

·  WIN -- People and organizations who need help will receive it

·  WIN -- Boy Scouts will see first hand why it is so important to help other people

·  WIN -- The Boy Scout organization will benefit because we will show our community (and in the future all communities) what scouting is all about and the benefits that are derived for everyone because we exist.

Please let your boys and their parents know about this upcoming community-wide event as soon as possible. In the next week or two, we are sending flyers out to you and will ask you to distribute them to each and every family in your troop.

Please help us “Pay it Forward” and make this event the WIN – WIN – WIN it is.

Yours for the best in Scouting,

Dorothy Conte
