RCA International Honors Scholarship Application
General Application Requirements—Applications will be considered only when these documents have been received:
Copy of your completed Sacramento State Study Abroad Application.
Two academic recommendations from Sacramento State Honors Faculty and/or CSUS Faculty.
Personal Essay written and signed by the applicant.
Statement of Purpose written and signed by the applicant.
A current resume (including computer/software skills).
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements and Conditions of Scholarship
Applications will not be considered unless a student:
1) isa Sacramento State FULL TIME Honors Student in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher;
2) has completed coursework to meet junior or senior academic standing requirements;
3) has demonstrated a commitment to community service by volunteering at least two hours per week for six months in a community or campus outreach program;
4) has not lived out-side of the United States for longer than six months.
As a condition of the scholarship, recipients must:
1) be accepted to and attend an overseas university for a minimum of one academic semester;
2) perform two hours per week of community service while overseas;
3) and write a brief paper on their international experience to be presented to the sponsor.
Scholarship Funds
The RCA International Honors Scholarships are awarded on merit. The maximum amount of each scholarship will not exceed $6,000. Scholarship funds may be used to purchase one round trip airfare (not to exceed $1,500) and to pay increased cost of living expenses overseas, including the tuition differential.
