  1. Village Profile – Geographic:

The village, Durshed is located in the Karimnagar mandal, district Karimnagar, it is 10 Kms from the mandal & district headquarter. Durshed is a Gram Panchayath and Revenue Village. It has 10 wards. Each ward has a ward member. It has no one hamlet village.

Boundaries of the village:-

North: Erukulla river and Mogdupur

South: Gunturplle and Bommakal

East: Chegurthi

West: Gopalapuram

There ia a famous Gandhi paper mart. In this paper mart hundreds of people working .

Most of the people of the villagedepend on agriculture.There are many families who get their livelihood in other ways such as artisans, thadi , etc. There are red and black soils. The staple food is rice. Paddy , maige , red gram, wheat, green gram and other crops are cultivated in the village .

To the North there is Erukulla vagr . People depend on the river for water sources both for drinking and agriculture purposes.

In the village muslim minority families are not there. Most of the village population covered with SCs’ and BCs’. Most of the population’ religion is Hindu.

  1. School Profile:-

In 1967 a School was established in Durshed village. Now this school became success school with Telugu and English medium from class 6th to 10th . The school is 10 Kms far from the mandal & District headquarter.There are only 10 class rooms in the High School. The school has compound wall. It has 3 toilets for Boys,girls and staff. Electricity facility is available in the school. Tap connection is there for drinking water & borewell is also there, but condition is not good. Tap connection is the only source for cooking and drinking in the high school. Furniture for students is not sufficient. The school has Computer lab with 10 Functioning computers. Classes running by NIIT with two instructors.

 Academic Performance:-

From the side of academic performance in the examinations is good. In 2010-2011 academic year school got 93% result in SSC Board examinations. In the field of co-curricular activities like sports and games, music, singing, essay writing competitions etc. school performance is good. In mandal level competitions school participated several times.

  1. Needs or gaps identified for Improvement

 Area of vacant space in the school which can be used for expansion of infrastructure facilities 500 Sq.m.

 Classrooms for classes X E/M and VIII E/M are not sufficient to students because there are coming snakes.

 School has boundary wall Partial.

 Play ground is there but not good.

 School doesn’t have adequate sports material.

 Tap connection is the only source of water for cooking and drinking in the school.

 To fulfill the gaps below mentioned works should be done

 X E/M & VIII E/M Rooms back should be clean.

 Existing classrooms conditions are not good. To some class rooms major repair is needed.

 Sufficient furniture is not available. Furniture should be provided to school.

 Play ground should be clean.

 Some teachers are doing office work manually so please provide functional computes to do work neatly and early.

 Vocational subjects should be introduced in the school.

 Friendly toilets should be provided for disabled children.

  1. Strategies and interventions :-

 The SMDC members of the school meet regularly to discuss about the school development.

 There is a good rapport between pupil and teacher. All teachers are regular, committed and dedicated towards the school. It provides a good opportunity for the children to learn. The students are also regular, disciplined and eager to extract knowledge from teachers.

 Some classrooms need minor and some major repair.

 Some irregular students are there, we are trying our level best to make them regular. And we are getting help from local leaders and parents.

 The education quality of students is average. To improve the quality and the grade of the 10th class students they were classified into A,B,C & D categories. Special care and attention is being given to the C &D category students. A & B category students are also taken care to improve further.

 Supervisory classes, remedial classes and additional classes are being taken regularly to the all classes needy students .

  1. Governance and Reforms :-

 School Management Development Committee conducting meeting and giving its full co-operation to building committee and the academic committee. Time to time it is reviewing the situation and doing its best.

 In the school Parent Teachers Association was formed, every month a meeting is being conducted. In this meeting review has been done on the performances of students. This meeting helps teachers to improve standards of children and it can improve good relationship between teacher and parent.

 In the school teachers are dedicative, regular and punctual, teachers are doing their level best to get good results. In the school students are regular, but some irregulars are there, teachers are trying making irregulars regular. In this teachers are taking help of parents and local leaders.

  1. Educational for SC/ST/Minority Community and Girls :-

 We have selected the previous students belonging to the community of SC. We have taken the help of those students to mobilize the children of SC community. Scholarships and Free textbooks are provided by government.

 There is a need to purchase teaching-learning material to support the SC community and provision of the additional teacher to bridge a gap between teacher and students.

 To understand SC’s problems and needs in SMDC SC member was elected and he is doing his best to overcome their community problems and help SC students performance.

 For better results teaching learning process should be developed for that required aids should be purchased.

 Special need students are there, to fulfill their requirement spl. Teacher should be appointed and equipment should be provided to needy students.

 To help poor students and orphan students free textbooks, free uniforms and scholarships facilities should be provided.

 Intervention for Minority community :-

 In the village no minority families and students there. So there are no plan of action for access, enrollment, retention and achievement.

 For this strategy proposed budget is Zero.

 Girls Education :-

 To improve Girl’s education SMDC and teacher are trying. Community mobilization and sensitization programmes are conducting.

 Adolscent education for girls is being conducted every year in the first week of December.

 Girls should be helped in their physical, mental, psychological development. For this teachers are taking help of SMDC.

 For better girls education government should give incentives like uniforms, scholarships, bi-cycles, educational provisions like stationary.

 Separate toilet block with water facility to attract and give comfort to girls.

 Resting room for girls to rest when they are not well and to have privacy when they need.

 Development of local specific teaching learning material.

 Special coaching classes / remedial classes should be taken for backward girl students.

  1. Innovations :

 In the school health check up being conducted. Aarogya Cards already issued. All needy childs are being given medicines, spectacles, vaccines etc. Recently Chinnaari Chupu programme conducted through this programme 15 students got spectacles by the govt. free of cost.

 Excursion and field trips should be done in the school. We have gone to Delhi,Agra,Jaipur in January - 2013 ( from 28th Jan’13 to 04th Feb’13) an excursion trip, students enjoyed and learnt a lot.

 Visiting the houses of the students and taking to their parents for improvement of attendance and study.

 For overall development Guidance and counselling centre should be opened in the school.

 To save our environment, trees should be planted in the school and they are watering these plants everyday or alternate day.

 Eco Committees are formed with the children. Every committee has a leader and every member has his/her duty to do in the school. Water committee is watering the plants in the school. They have given us dust bins and trolley dust bins, children are using these material with great excitement and responsibility.

 Training should be given on life skills.

 After SSC exams, students need career guidance.

  1. Community mobilization :-

 Training and meeting of stakeholders.

 Awareness campaign should be conducted.

 PTA should work properly, for that training should be given to PTA.

 Community is very supportive to the school, they are helping in reducing absentism and increasing attendance of the students.

  1. Suggestions and interventions :

 Right to education Act should be implemented properly.

 Stern action should be taken on the persons, who encourage child labour.

 Bridge schools should be established.

 Open schools should be established.

 For improvement of Girl education, meetings should be done with their parents.

  1. Status and suggestions for ICT programme :

 There are 10 functional computers available in our school. but in our village electicity problem is there.So that’s why computer lab not working properly.

  1. Status and suggestions for IED programme :

 There are only four students in this category . Special instructor to be provided to these students. And friendly toilets should be provided.

  1. Status and Suggestions for Vocational Education :

 There is no vocational education is being taught. Vocational education is important . So Vocational Education should be introduced in the school. Instructors also should be appointed.

  1. Role of Girls Hostel in reducing the girl student Drop Out rate in secondary Level :

 As per the present status there is no hostel provision even though girls drop out rate is nill sofar. Every girls of this habitation is enrolled in schools.
