Rank Requirements

Like all martial arts, Judo is made up of ranks which correspond to belt color. Beginners start at the first level or white belt. In order to move up the ranks, participants must take rank examinations. These examinations consist of a written test and a practical test in which testers must perform the skills required to achieve the rank for which they are testing. A third and very important part of the rank test is demonstrated throughout the participants time in judo. This part of the rank examination encompasses many aspects of the overall person.

  • Attitude
  • Maturity
  • Respect for self and others
  • Dedication
  • Willingness to help others
  • Players are also expected to set a good example for those below them in rank

Please click on the belt color below to see a printable version of the rank requirements.
