What date is RACT Symphony under the Stars 2018?

Saturday 17 February

Tolosa Park, Glenorchy

What time does the concert begin/end?
Music starts at 7pm and will end at approximately 9.30pm.

Please note that the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra will perform from 6pm ahead of the Tolosa Park event.

St Patrick's College, Launcestonwill perform ahead of the City Park event, from approx. 6.15pm.

Do I need to buy a ticket?
NO. RACT Symphony under the Stars is free of charge and no ticket is required.

Is parking available close to the venue & what is the best way to get to and from the event?

- Glenorchy

Parking is available on site: a section of the park will be reserved for public parking.

Glenorchy City Council will also provide a shuttle bus between the Glenorchy Bus Interchange in central Glenorchy to Tolosa Park. The bus will operate between 5:30pm - 7pm & 9.45pm - 10.45pm.

-City Park

There is no event parking available at City Park and street parking will be limited.

Can I bring food and drink with me to the event?
Please do! Feel free to bring along a picnic. Alcohol is permitted.
In Glenorchy, there will be a barbecue sausage stall operated by Lindisfarne Rotary. Double Shot Coffee will operate a hot beverage stall.

In Launceston, food and cold drinks (including beer and wine) will be available from the barbecue sausage stall operated by the Launceston Rotary Club, with proceeds going towards Rotary projects. Tea and coffee will be available from Victorias on the Park coffee carts situated around the park.

Please note that metal cutlery is not permitted and plastic knives and forks should be used.

Also, bear in mind that space can be limited so large eskies and hampers should be kept to a minimum.

Are glass cups and bottles permitted?

Glass bottles are permitted on both sites but please be careful! We ask that all drinking glassware should be plastic. Recycling bins will be available on both sites to dispose of them after the event.
Will there be ATM facilities available?
No, there are no cash out facilities at either venue.

Will drinking water be available?

Yes, there will be access to drinking water on both sites.

What toilets are on site?
Extensive portable toilets facilities are available on both sites.

Am I allowed to bring a camera to the festival?
Yes you can, but please note that professional still cameras and recording equipment is not permitted.

Is it safe for children to attend?
Certainly! RACT Symphony under the Stars isa family-friendly event and suitable for even the youngest of family members.

Can I bring my dog, cat, llama?
No pets are allowed at RACT Symphony under the Stars, only accredited assistance animals such as Guide Dogs.

Can I bring a shade tent / chairs?
Feel free to bring your picnicblanket, beanbag, cushion or a low-line chair.No marquees, tents or tall chairs areallowed.

What if it rains?
A decision on the weather conditions will be made on the morning of the event. If the event is cancelled, it will be publicised on the TSO website, TSO Facebook page and via ABC local radio.
