Management Handbook Form Instructions

RA-10 RESIDENT'S 30-DAY NOTICE TO TERMINATE RESIDENCY

Form RA-10 is given to a resident to complete upon learning of his/her intent to move out. This form serves as the required 30-day "written notification" to us that the resident intends to move.

Although other written notification is legally sufficient, residents should be encouraged to use this form. If the resident fails to answer the departing questions, the Property Manager should ask the questions and note the answers on this form before the form is accepted. If, for any reason, the resident does not complete this form, the Property Manager must complete the form with the information available. If the resident notification is on a different form, it must be stapled to this RA-10 form. If no notice was given, the Property Manager must note that on the form.

Upon receipt of the “Resident’s 30-Day Notice to Terminate Residency”, the Property Manager should respond by giving the resident the “Letter to Departing Resident” (Form RA-9), which gives the resident further move-out instructions.

See the Security Deposit Disposition Policy for more information.
