Quick Guide on How Identify the Active vs Inactive Employee Population

Differentiating between active and inactive employees is determined by the value in the Empl_Status field on the Job table. Below are the possible values for Empl_Status.

L / Leave of Absence / Leave
P / Leave With Pay / Leave W/Py
Q / Retired With Pay / Ret w/Pay
R / Retired / Retired
S / Suspended / Suspended
T / Terminated / Terminated
U / Terminated With Pay / Term w/Pay
V / Terminated Pension Pay Out / Term w/Pen
W / Short Work Break – NOT USED / Work Break
X / Retired-Pension Administration – NOT USED / Ret - PAdm

ACTIVE EMPLOYEES:

Employees with the following Empl Status are considered to be “active” employees. Specifically, EEs actively at work, still getting paid from Oxy’s payroll system or on a temporary leave of absence.

EMPL_STATUS / EE Population Description
A / Active: actively at work
L / Leave of Absence: temporarily not actively at work
Example: personal leave, sickness, disability, FMLA, pending LTD
P / Leave With Pay: temporarily not actively at work
Excample: short term accident/disability, military leave
U / Terminated With Pay: not actively at work but being paid by Oxy
Example: EEs on severance still in receipt of benefits

INACTIVE EMPLOYEES:

Employees with the following Empl Status are considered to be “inactive” employees. Specifically, EEs that are NOT actively at work.

D / Deceased
Q / Retired With Pay: not actively at work but being paid by Oxy P/R system
R / Retired: not actively at work but in receipt of pension payments
S / Suspended: not actively at work due to a suspension in employment
T / Terminated: not actively at work due to a termination in employment or on a long term disability leave of absence
V / Terminated Pension Pay Out: in receipt of a pension payout after termination of employment
