LIQUID 2 LEVEL SENSOR

Allows one or two levels of liquid to be poured.

The liquid 2 level sensor is an aid for people with vision impairment to fill cups and glasses with liquid without overfilling and allows two separate liquids to be poured such as hot water and milk for tea/coffee or for a non mixed drink such as water, fruit juice etc.

Using the sensor

As for making a cup of tea/coffee with milk, where water is the first liquid poured then adding a second liquid such as milk to it.

  1. Simply hang the sensor over the cup or glass with the metal probes on the inside of the container.
  2. Slowly pour in your first liquid until a pulsating tone is heard, this is your first level.
  3. Slowly pour in your second liquid and stop pouring when a continuous tone is heard, this is your second and final level.

As for pouring a non-mixed drink such as water, soft drink or juice.

  1. Simply hang the sensor over the cup or glass with the metal probes on the inside of the container.
  2. Slowly pour the liquid into the container ignoring the first pulsating tone, stop pouring when a continuous tone is heard. The cup will now be filled to about 25 mm from the top.

Care and Maintenance

Simply wipe the probes with a dry cloth after use.

Do not immerse the liquid level sensor in liquid. If the unit fails to operate or a continuous tone is heard after accidental immersion, then remove the battery and allow to dry with the back cover removed.

Battery Life and Replacement

The liquid level sensor only consumes battery power when in use and therefore batteries should last for at least 12 months with normal use.

To replace battery simply undo the Phillips head screw located at the back of the unit and lift out the battery. Replace the battery taking care of the correct polarity.

Battery Type: 12 Volt Alkaline Miniature type same as that used for most car alarm remote controls – MN21, EL12, VR22 etc. Available from all large supermarkets and chemists.

Storage

Handy magnets on the back of the unit allow for easy storage on a metal object such as the refrigerator for easy location.
