ABOUT THE CHARGE NURSE WORKSHOP
Who should attend?
This program is designed for Registered Nurses with six months to a year nursing experience and for Nurse Managers who are interested in improving their management skills.
The purpose of the charge nurse program is to provide the nurse with the knowledge and skills needed to coordinate and promote quality of patient care, manage resources and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Educational Goal
Charge nurse function is an important function in the complex health care environment. With the trend toward participative management, charge nurses are assuming more of the roles and function traditionally reserved for the first – level manager.
Program Description: This program is designed to provide the charge nurse with the knowledge and skills needed to coordinate and promote quality of patient care, manage resources and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards. The program also covers generic leadership skills such as delegation, teamwork, communication and conflict resolution.

- Explain Personnel Management and identify strategies in managing difficult employees
- Discuss the importance of effective communication strategies
- Discuss Ethic/Legal Responsibility
- Identifying the best leadership style for a situation
- Describe effective delegation strategies
- Describe strategies for Management of conflict
- Describe how to manage resources economically and efficiently

She is a full time Educator, Administrative Nursing Supervisor and an Adjunct Faculty.
