Attention All Amateur Radio Operators

This is the Amateur Radio Emergency Service Net sponsored by Tangipahoa ARES and the Southeast Louisiana Amateur Radio Club.

Anyone needing the use of the frequency for emergency traffic, please give a double BREAK (BREAK-BREAK) at anytime. Other stations needing to use the frequency for other calls should give a single BREAK and standby for Net Control.

This is a directed net and all calls should be to Net Control. Your Net Control station tonight is (give your call-sign), (your name) and (your location).

Are there any stations on frequency with emergency or priority traffic?

(PAUSE for any stations with emergency or priority traffic.

Copy and relay any traffic that might be passed at this time.)

The Tangi ARES Net meets each Monday night at 8:30pm, (2030 hrs.) local time, on this frequency for the purposes of training and coordinating amateur radio operators should emergency conditions require our services. If the 147.000 (-600) repeater is not available, please check the 145.130 (-600) as the secondary frequency, or the 146.520 or 147.000 simplex. All of the Tangipahoa Parish repeaters require 107.2 PL tone.

Tonight’s net may be linked into New Orleans on the (146.820) repeater courtesy of N5OZG.

Mobile stations are invited to check in any time; others should wait for called check-ins by Net Control. You DO NOT need to be an ARES member to check into the net – all hams are welcome and invited to check in.

Are there any mobile stations that need assistance or wish to check in to tonight’s net? This is (your call sign) Net Control for the ARES Net.

(PAUSE for mobile check-ins; ask if they have traffic for the net and take their comments immediately)

Mobile stations running out of the repeater's coverage may check out at any time, others are asked to remain on frequency until the net closes. If you need to leave the net for any reason prior to the close of the net, request to secure your station from Net Control.
