QALL COAST COACHING AGREEMENT

I coach for the benefit of the children/players on my team. It is my responsibility to give every child a positive environment in which to grow as an individual and also to learn more advanced baseball skills.

In the Coast level of play, I recognize that competition is more intense. Because my bending or violating this Agreement increases the pressure on other coaches to do the same, I commit to uphold this Agreement. If I believe another manager or coach is not honoring this Agreement, I shall bring my concerns first to the other manager or coach. If I am still concerned, I shall contact the Minor League Commissioner.

Therefore, I abide that I will do and support the following:

1.  I will treat each and every player with respect, whether that player is on my team or on another. I will let parents know when they can meet with me to discuss their concerns.

2.  It is my responsibility to teach excellent sportsmanship. I must teach respect for the other team and for the umpires. I will recognize and congratulate the outstanding plays of our opponents. I will control my team’s unruly fans (if any) whose behavior disrespects the umpires or any players.

3.  It is my responsibility to learn and teach baseball skills. I will learn from other coaches, attend required clinics, study books and videos, and I will encourage my players to also attend QALL clinics, and other baseball clinics.

4.  No available player on my team shall sit out over half of any game.

5.  Each player shall play a significant amount of time in the outfield and infield during the course of the regular season. If we have a 12-game season, then every player will play at least 12 innings in the outfield and at least 12 innings in the infield.

6.  Over the course of the regular season, I will develop and use at least seven different pitchers, three with at least 140 pitches thrown, two with at least 100 pitches thrown, and the two with at least 50 pitches thrown.

7.  Prior to the game I will develop a written plan of what positions each child will play for a six-inning game. And, I will follow my plan (subject to injury, a child not showing up, or a pitching change).

8.  I recognize that some items of this Agreement apply only to the regular season. In the playoffs, items 5 and 6 shall not apply.

I will honor this Coaching Agreement and Abide by all Little League and Local Queen Anne Little League Rules (on reverse).

QALL COAST LOCAL RULES - 2015

All applicable rules listed in the current year’s Minor League Official Regulations and Playing Rules issued by the National Little League shall apply except as follows:

1. Except for injury, each player shall play at least half of every game, with at least two innings on the infield (catcher, pitcher, shortstop and/or baseman). [Adds to IV- The Players (i).]

2. No player shall play more than three innings at one position.

3. The coach will prepare a batting order that includes each team player who is available to play at the game. (This is known as “batting the roster.”) There are no substitute batters or changing order during the game except that players who are not present at the time of their first at-bat shall be deleted from the order. If they arrive later in the game, they are to be added at the end of the batting order. [Modifies Rule 4.04.]

4. In any inning, no team may bat more players than the lesser of (1) the number of available players on its team, or (2) the number of available players on the opposing team. [Modifies Rule 5.07.]

5. No new inning shall begin one hour and 45 minutes after the start of the game. [Replaces 4.11(e).] This rule modification shall apply only during the regular season prior to playoffs.

6. No team may score more than 5 runs in any inning prior to the last, in which there is no maximum. To determine the last inning of a pre-playoff game, it is whichever comes first: 1) the sixth inning, 2) any inning that starts after 1 hour and 45 minutes from the beginning of the game, or 3) any inning when both team managers agree that it is the final inning and so inform the umpire. [Modifies Rule 5.07.] This rule modification shall apply only during the regular season prior to playoffs.

7. For all playoff games, QALL will use the standard rules as modified by these special rules, with the exception that Items 5 and 6 (above) shall no longer apply. Tournament Rules shall not apply to any playoff games.

Note: for interleague games with Ballard and Magnolia, the green-book rules apply unless they agree to these QALL Local Rules.

Note: the 10-run rule applies to QALL Coast games.
