The terms of employment will be as set forth in the document, “Notification of Appointment,” which you will receive via email link when your appointment begins.

The 20XX-20XXappointment year will be the first of afour, five, or six-year term “Q” appointment. At the mid-point of your appointment term (i.e., Spring 20XX), your home unit will initiate a mid-probationary review of your performance in the areas of teaching, research, and service. Your unit will provide a written assessment of your progress toward tenure. Your review for tenurewill be conducted no later than the last year of your “Q” appointment (i.e., at the beginning of yourfourth, fifth, or sixthyear. If it is recommended that indefinite tenure be awarded, a Notification of Appointment will be sent at the beginning of thefifth, sixth, or seventhyear of service indicating the rank asAssociate Professor or Professorwith tenure. If review of your research, teaching, and service record does not warrant indefinite tenure, the last year of the “Q” appointment will serve as the terminal year, or the appointment year ending August 15, 20Insert the last year of the "Q" contract.
