PURINA MILLS YOUNG CATTLEMEN’S LEADERSHIP
SCHOLARSHIP FORM 2016
The Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Committee and Purina Mills will be awarding a $1,000.00 scholarship to a New Mexico student in December 2016 at the Joint Stockmen’s Convention at the Marriott Pyramid North. Also the Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Committee and the Allied Industries Committee will be presenting two $500.00 scholarships, one will be awarded to a high school senior and one to a continuing college student.
Scholarship Requirements:
- Must be a member of the New Mexico Cattle Grower’s Association Junior Cattle Growers or a child of an Association member.
- Must be a high school senior or college Freshman, Sophomore or Junior in good academic standing.
- The scholarship shall be awarded only once a year.
- The Scholarship shall be applied to any College or University.
- The Scholarship will be payable directly to the college or university or individual for expenses:i.e. tuition, books, fees, room and board.
- You may apply more than once, but you are eligible to receive the scholarship only twice. Preference will not be given to previous winners.
7. All applications will be numbered and names withheld until after a recipient has been
selected.
8. All applications must be typed no hand written applications will be accepted.
9. All applications will be judged on a 100 point scale. The scale is as follows:
GPA – 5 pts
Academic Honors – 10 pts
School Activities and Clubs – 5 pts
Community Activities and Organizations – 5 pts
Essay # 1 – 30 pts
Essay # 2 – 25 pts
Financial need – 20 pts
