PUPPY PURCHASE AGREEMENT

Seller: Peter & Lisa Pehur

Buyer: ______

Enter into the following agreement on ______

1.  Seller agrees to transfer to the Buyer one (1) German Shorthaired Pointer puppy AKC litter registration number ______sired by CH Crystal’s Up Close N’Personal MH and whelped by Shooter’s One Good Reason.

“Puppy” is used in this agreement to include a male or female at any age.

2. The description of the puppy is as follows:

3. The Buyer agrees to pay Seller the purchase price of $800.00 for this pup. The amount must be paid in full at the time of transferring the puppy to the Buyer. The AKC puppy papers will be transferred to the Buyer at this time.

4.  The Seller represents and warrants as follows:

a.  The puppy was whelped on ______

b.  The puppy has been vaccinated for distemper-hepatitis, corona and parvovirus on ______.

c.  The puppy was wormed for roundworms and hookworms on______

d.  The puppy was vet checked on ______by Dr. Osmun in Linden, MI at Companion Animal Hospital at (810) 735-7857 and found to be in good health.

e.  The puppy is free of hereditary defects such as:

·  dysplasia of the hips to such extent as to not be certified acceptable by the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals (OFA) before three (3) years of age. Such certification to be obtained at the expense of the Buyer before the puppy is three (3) years of age.

·  Extreme overbite or underbite before one year of age.

GUARANTEE

A full refund shall be given to the Buyer upon return of the puppy with a hereditary defect or ½ of the selling price shall be returned if the Buyer elects to keep the puppy and have it spayed/neutered at the Buyer’s expense. The Buyer must give notice of the disqualifying defect in writing to the Seller from an authorized veterinarian, stating that the defect is definitely of a hereditary nature and not due to illness or injury. The Buyer must notify the Seller of this defect within one (1) month of discovery to obtain a refund.

5.  Buyer agrees and warrants as follows:

a.  The Buyer will register the puppy with AKC before the puppy turns one year old. The puppy’s registered name will begin with Shooter’s. A limited registration will be issued unless other arrangements have been previously agreed to by Seller and Buyer.

b.  The Seller will register the litter with NAVHDA

c.  The Buyer will notify the Seller of any change of address.

d.  The Buyer will have their veterinarian examine the puppy within 10 days of pickup of the puppy. If the Buyer fails to notify the Seller in writing of any problems before the expiration of the 10-day period, the Buyer will be deemed to have accepted the puppy, begin satisfied the puppy is in good health.

e.  The Buyer will take all measures to maintain the health and well being of the puppy for as long as the Buyer retains ownership. The Buyer will provide a good home which includes indoor housing, regular exercise, affection, proper nutrition and health care for the puppy.

If the Buyer does not provide these items, the Seller may require the return of the

Puppy.

f.  If for any reason the puppy is to be sold or transferred by the Buyer to someone other

than the Seller, the Buyer must get the Seller’s approval which will not be

unreasonably withheld.

g.  If the puppy has been give full AKC registration, the puppy will not be bred if it has any major or disqualifying defects or does not qualify for an OFA acceptable rating. The dog must show desirable attributes as described in the AKC GSP Breed Standard to be considered for breeding.

h.  A female puppy may not be spayed until after the pup has experienced (1) heat cycle.

If these conditions are not met, Buyer will return the puppy at his/her cost to the Seller and pay the Seller $1000.00. Payment is due within 30 days from the time the Seller is made aware of any of the above mentioned conditions.

6. If the Buyer cannot or does not wish to keep the puppy for any reason other than a hereditary disqualifying defect, regardless of age, the Seller must be notified of such decision and the Seller will aid in finding a good home for the puppy. If the Buyer and Seller cannot find a good home for the puppy within 30 days, the Buyer may return the puppy at his cost to the Seller. The Seller must take the puppy back and return a portion of the purchase price up the original purchase price so long as the puppy is not injured or ill. The portion of the purchase price returned to the Buyer if the puppy is in good condition shall be as follows:

100% until the puppy reaches 4 months of age

50% from 4 months to 1 year of age

10% over 1 year of age.

7. No other conditions, guarantees, or obligations concerning the sale of this puppy applies. The agreement may be modified or amended only in writing and signed by the parties. By signing below, we agree that we have read, understood, and will abide by all of the terms of this contract.
