Said puppy/dog is being placed into a guardian home under the following conditions:
1.The puppy/dog shall not be used for breeding of any kind other than by written consent from H & H Red Canon Canines LLC
______
2.The puppy/dog shall not be sold, leased, bartered, given away or donated to another party(ies) The puppy/dog shall never be surrendered to a shelter or rescue organization.
3.The puppy/dog shall not be abandoned or allowed to run free at any time. A safe kennel run or fenced in yard will be provided
4.The puppy/dog shall be kept as a pet and will be maintained in appropriate conditions for its health and welfare:
•Will receive minimum yearly veterinary medical and dental cleaning exam and on-going veterinary care to include:
Necessary vaccinations and worming.
Preventive parasite control – heartworm, flea, tick, etc. You must agree that this puppy/dog will not be given any flea control containing Spinosad “Comfortis,Trifexis” ( we suggest Panacur or Ivomectin please ask us for dosage)
Dental care and cleaning as needed.
Emergency or other veterinary care as necessary.
•Will receive regular grooming and basic hygiene care to include:
Brushing of coat as needed to prevent matting and to keep coat free of foreign matter.
Cleaning of ears as necessary to prevent infection.
Bathing as needed to keep skin healthy and free of irritation. Clipping of hair on regular basis (4-6 week intervals) as needed to prevent matting and skin irritation.
•Will receive obedience training and socialization as needed to be a well-mannered house dog that is reliable and friendly in public situations.
Recommended training includes:
..1.Puppy Kindergarten classes where appropriate.
..2.Basic Obedience course C
Completed Canine Good Citizen within 1 year)
..3.Crate training for bodily function control and for confinement when unsupervised.
..4.House-training for manners and proper behavior with people and possessions.
Socialization includes:
..5.Training courses for interaction with other people and animals.
..6.Interaction with family members and guests in the home.
..7.Taking the puppy/dog on walks or visits where he/she can interact with strangers in a positive, non-threatening manner.( weekly trips to Home Depot, TSC , Ace Hardware are highly recommended)
..8.Regular visits to the groomer of the guardians choice
..9.To prove sound temperament of our breeding dogs we Require our guardians to show the dog in 4H or other all breed club or to participate in some type of a club activity- obedience, field/hunt, rally, dock diving, therapy. Participation as a Reading dog with local school or library is also acceptable.
The choice of activity is the guardians as they will know the personality and aptitude best at 1 year. We believe strongly that this is a key part of being a responsible breeder and a responsible owner
During the time this said dog is in this Guardian home contract (4-7 years for Males, 4-7 years for Females) the Guardian/New owner will agree to the following: 1.The guardian will make the dog available to the breeder-owner when the need to use him to stud a female or to breed her to a male. The breeder-owner will make every effort to give the guardian home aweek notice prior to needing the dog for breeding, but at times this may not be possible as there is only a small window of opportunity in which a female must be bred. **A female will need to come to the breeder owner’s home approx. a week prior to giving birth and will need to stay until the pups are weaned (from 6-8 weeks) unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
The guardian agrees to travel with the said dog if needed for breeding purposes if needed.
2.*Will not allow the dog to breed to any other than has been approved by the breeder in advance. 3.All puppies produced by this dog (Male or Female) during this contract belongs to Richard and Rosie Huitema/ H&H Red canon canines..
4.Keep us updated on the guardian dog’s growth and well-being, as well as provide picture updates on a monthly basis and when requested. Email and Text are adequate
5.IMPORTANT: This is not sign a paper and get a free dog program. This is a commitment to a living being that may or may not be perfect all the times that will need training like any normal puppy. We need people to read the contract in full before signing because you can’t re-write it once it comes time to breed your guardian dog. If you have a problem with dog breeding or being away from your dog for a 2 month period (For Females) then you should not be a guardian.
6.The Ownership of the Puppy/Dog will be shared while the Guardian agreement is being fulfilled. The Microchip will be registered in both parties names just in case of emergency.
7.H& H Red canon Canines will assume the cost of Registrations
8.Guardian will have pup insured through a Pet insurance company recommended by their vet.
9.Once the Guardian breeding contract is completed Richard Huitema or GertrudeHuitema will sign Complete Ownership of the dog over to the Guardian family (6 years for Males, 4-6 years for Females)
10.Pup will continue on the NuVet supplement throughout this contract. See Addendum
If Guardian/New Owner should become unable to care for dog, or is unable to provide a reasonable home and/or necessary medical and grooming care, or is unable to meet other basic requirements of dog ownership, he/she/they agree to immediately notify Richard or Rosie Huitema and to return the dog to them, with all accompanying paperwork and health records, without promise of financial restitution or compensation.
Guardian/New Owner further understands and agrees that should Richard or Rosie Huitema discover that any part of this agreement has been violated or is not being performed as agreed, or if the puppy/dog is neglected, mal-treated, mal-nourished, or is not receiving adequate or necessary medical care, Richard or Rosie Huitema shall have the right to repossess said dog and all accompanying paperwork necessary to transfer back to Richard Huitema), without financial restitution or compensation.
Falsified information on any of our forms will result in this contract being voided and the puppy/dog must be returned to Richard Huitema). with no financial restitution or compensation.
If guardian must move out of Fremont county Guardian will agree to transport to H & H Red Canon Canines.
This is a legal binding contract signed by both parties.
