OBJECTIVES FOR 2016/17
  1. Close the gap for children eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant to be in line with non-PPG children in English and Maths
  2. To improve the access to extra-curricular activities for disadvantaged children (SEND, PP, FSM, gender groups and key ethnic groups)
  3. Overcome barriers to learning through a comprehensive 2 stranded support provision ( pastoral and academic)

  1. Use experienced outstanding teachers to lead learning in key year groups. Support them in analysing the data to identify trends, areas of weaknesses. Use the analysis to target progress and behaviour to support the needs of the children, parents and staff.

  1. Overcoming barriers to learning to ensure good + progress is made by all children, including those on Free School Meals and in receipt of Pupil premium through afterschool tuition and intervention groups. The project of one to one tuition is primarily for children in Year 6 and may be expanded to include individual children if necessary.

  • 121 Tuition system successfully adapted to 2 or 3 children with a teacher for 1 hour session after school in year 6. Excellent results achieved when the children worked with the set teacher- all children in target group achieved value added results.
  • Data analysed for FSM /PP children at termly meetings
  • Good response to expectations set of how to use additional adults in class in a focused manner; this has resulted in reduced behaviour incidents and engagement with learning.

  1. ‘Lego Therapy’ to build pupils social and communication skills delivered by Teaching Assistants

  • Trained TA in each year group to deliver Lego programme
  • Pupils confidence in social skills and communication skills make an impact across the curriculum

  1. Increased provision for enrichment programmes to support pupils’ wider educational needs through subsidised music, trips and an enhanced sports provision.

  • Some children offered After School club/ Breakfast club on a regular bases and some on an ad hoc bases thus supporting parents and families.
  • Children’s trips contributions reduced so increased participation
  • Key children offered subsidised music tuition as an incentive for good behaviour and learning

  1. Continue to build the Forest School provision to foster the pupils wider emotional and social skills within a wooded natural environment
