The DfE’s definition of disadvantaged pupils, who are eligible for pupil premium funding, includes:

  • pupils who are eligible for FSM in last 6 years
  • pupils who have left local authority care because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order
  • pupils who have been in local-authority care for 1 day or more
