This is how we stay safe when we usecomputers:

I will ask a teacher or suitable adult if I want to use thecomputers

I will only use activities that a teacher has told orallowedme touse.

I will take care of the computer and otherequipment

I will ask for help from a teacher or other adult if I am not sure what todoor if I think I have done somethingwrong.

I will tell a teacher or other adult if I see something that upsets me onthescreen.

I know that if I break the rules I might not be allowed to use acomputer.

Digital technologies have become integral to the lives of children, both within schools andoutsideschool.Thesetechnologiesprovidepowerfultools, whichopenupnewopportunitiesforeveryone.Theycanstimulatediscussion,promotecreativity andstimulateawarenessofcontexttopromoteeffectivelearning.Children shouldhave an entitlement to safe internet access at alltimes.

This Acceptable Use Policy is intended toensure:

•Thatyoungpeoplewillberesponsibleusersandstaysafewhileusingtheinternetandothercommunicationstechnologies for educational, personal and recreationaluse.

•Thatschool/academysystemsandusersareprotectedfromaccidentalordeliberatemisusethatcouldputthesecurity of the systems and users atrisk.

•That parents and carers are aware of the importance of e-safety and are involved in the education and guidanceofyoung people with regard to their on-linebehaviour.

Theschoolwilltrytoensurethatpupils willhavegoodaccesstodigitaltechnologiestoenhancetheirlearningandwill,inreturn,expectthepupils toagreetoberesponsibleusers.AcopyoftheStudent/PupilAcceptableUsePolicyisattachedtothispermissionform,sothatparents/carerswillbeawareoftheschoolexpectationsoftheyoungpeopleintheircare.

Parentsarerequestedtosignthepermissionformbelowtoshowtheirsupportoftheschoolinthisimportantaspectoftheschool’swork.
