PubCon Las Vegas 2010 To Feature Keynote By Search Pioneer Tim Mayer

PubCon, the premier new media and optimization conference and expo, has announced that longtime search engine guru Tim Mayer, a former head of search product and business at Yahoo, will present a keynote address during PubCon Las Vegas 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall on November 8 - 11, 2010.
With more than 15 years of pivotal involvement in the evolution of search engines, Mayer will offer his unique insights on the future of new media and optimization to PubCon Las Vegas 2010 attendees.
“Having Tim Mayer at PubCon Las Vegas 2010 to present a keynote speech will be a very special treat for our attendees,” said PubCon founder and WebmasterWorld Inc. chief executive Brett Tabke.
“We're excited to present one of the driving pioneer forces behind the historic expansion of search technology as a PubCon keynote speaker, and we're sure Tim's insights will help make this the biggest and best PubCon Las Vegas ever,” added Tabke.
Mayer, who has been an adviser to several cutting-edge mobile Web and online television start-ups since leaving Yahoo in August, is a natural fit for a PubCon keynote address.
“I have been involved with PubCon since 2002 and participated both as a panelist and a keynoter,” said Mayer.
“It has been great to be involved in the growth of the PubCon conference as well as seeing the relationships and community — both online and offline — that have developed around it,” added Mayer.
Mayer's extensive involvement in the growth of search engine technology and a fresh and energetic approach to new media strategy is certain to both educate and inspire PubCon Las Vegas 2010 attendees.
During his seven years at Yahoo Mayer held several global leadership roles in search, the commerce businesses, front page programming, and mobile search, heading many key endeavors at the Sunnyvale, California-based giant's various search properties.
Prior to Yahoo, Mayer managed pivotal firms that played key roles in making search a multi-billion-dollar industry, including Overture Services Inc., where he was vice president of search products, Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), where he was general manager and vice president of the Web search division, Inktomi, where he was director of product management, and The Thomson Corporation.
PubCon Las Vegas 2010 includes keynote speeches from noted author and New York Times technology columnist David Pogue, one of the world's leading voices on technology and social media, and a very special powerhouse keynote panel featuring Sevans Strategy founder Sarah Evans, social media firm UnMarketing president Scott Stratten, New Marketing Labs president Chris Brogan, and Copyblogger founder Brian Clark.
