PTO Meeting Agenda/Committee Updates

Welcome! Tanya thanked everyone for coming! It is a difficult time of the year to fit everything in.
Prior Month Meeting Minutes Beverly passed around copies of the minutes for review & approval
· Newsletter and minutes are posted on the district website
Treasurer’s Report Susan reviewed the treasures report for approval. She also shared a list of item that PTO has provided for the school this year through our fundraising efforts. It is important for you to know how we spent the money we raised for PTO. The list below are some of the programs/events we have sponsored (not all inclusive) this school year:
· Contributed $3000 toward Student Assemblies
· Contributed $2000 toward field trips
· Promethean Matching Project - $3700 for technology for the classrooms
· Purchased a custom tablecloth and a new tiger custom as gifts to the school ($1300)
· Paid for Author Visit by Nick Bruel. (Bad Kitty)
· Made donations to the Weisenberg Gift of Giving and the Weisenberg Scholarship Fund
· Funded all the Before & After School Clubs for the 2013-14 school year
· Sponsored Fall Festival and Family Night
· Welcomed all new students with a PTO water bottle
· Purchased Weisenberg Parent Notepads to use for absences
· Provided activities and resources for TV Turn-Off Week
· Provided two Staff Appreciation Luncheons
· Sponsored the DJ dance party
· Purchased 5th grade Finale T-shirts for all 5th Grade Weisenberg Students
Still to come:
· Retirement gift for retiring staff (Susan Christ)
· Framing of artwork by Nick Bruel for display in our library

Executive Committee Report
· A BIG THANK YOU to Susan Dellicker for serving on the Executive Board!
· A HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs. Holmes & Mrs. Sacco for being our PTO Teacher Representatives!
· THANK YOU to all the homeroom parents! Your help to the teachers and in “getting the word out” is unsurpassed. Thank you for all your hard work!
· Thank you to all of our volunteers who continue to do a great job!
· Summer volunteer help needed in front office! Contact Natalie King or Sue McGorry if interested in helping.
· Retiree Gift Update (Susan Christ) Suggestion for a framed print to be hung somewhere in the school. Suggested idea is a child nurse checking a doll. It would include a dedication plaque to Mrs. Christ. The print is expected to arrive between June 12th and June 18th.
· Spring Yard Sale at Weisenberg on Saturday June 14th!! There still is time to buy a “parking spot” and keep your proceeds. Start putting aside items you would like to sell. You can also donate items to the PTO to sell. Contact Christa Eck at 610-844-8970. Suggestion to put a sign in the school yard across from the dump on Saturday, June 7th to announce the upcoming yard sale. Hot Dogs and Bake sale are going to be included at the yard sale.
· End of Year Parties will be held Monday, June 16th from 10:45-11:30 am (set up at 10:30). If you wish to take your child home via private transportation you will need to send in a note the day prior. Pick up will follow normal parent pick up procedures at noon at the south side of the school (gym entrance).
· 5th Grade End of Year Promotional Assembly, Thursday, June 12th, 1:30 pm – We will not be providing cake this year.
Principal Remarks – Mrs. Berlet was unable to attend due to the Kindergarten end of year assembly. She did not have anything to report at this time. If you have a little time this summer to help with copying and other paperwork, please let Mrs. Overstrom know. They usually need help putting the Kindergarten packets together.
Teacher Remarks – Mrs. Holmes/Mrs. Sacco were unable to attend due to busy schedules. The staff would like to thank all the PTO volunteers for all their hard work throughout the year. They are very appreciative of all.
Items for Review, Discussion & Voting:
End of Year Thank You Gifts - A thank you candy bar was purchased for Mrs. Sacco, Mrs. Holmes, Mrs. Searcy, Mrs. Acker, Mrs. Moyer and Mrs. Berlet for all the kindness and support they show to the PTO. A print with frame was created for Mrs. Overstrom to thank her for all she does in support of the PTO.
Committees in Need of Coordinators (Natalie King)
· Yearbook Layout Co-chair for next year needed!!!! – Michele Kaschak is willing to working on developing a yearbook committee that would work together to put the yearbook together.
· Staff Appreciation Luncheons 2014-2015 school year – Chairs – we are still in need of 2 chairs.
· Before & After School Clubs Chairs 2014-2015 school year – after some discussion Jen Ott and Nicki Reimert will stay on as chairs for this club.
· Weisenberg Walkers – Mrs. Ritter currently has a 5th grader and is willing to stay on as the co-chair for next year, but Denise Dengler wants to make sure this is okay since she will not have a student here next year. If it is not allowed then Weisenberg Walkers will need a co-chair for next year.

· Lehigh Valley Road Runners Kids Summer Series (FREE) – Dates 6/14, 6/21, 7/5, 7/19, 8/2. Go to www.lvrr.org for more information and to register.
· Valley Preferred Cycling Center Summer Developmental Cycling Program for Kids (FREE). Runs programs from beginning of June until end of August. Sign up early! Go to
· www.thevelodrome.com and look under “community programs” – PeeWee Pedalers and Air Products for youth for more information.
· Fall Blood Drive scheduled for Tuesday September 9th. Mark your Calendars now!

the Weisenberg PTO and Weisenberg Elementary School!
Your endless donations, efforts, time and dedication are why our school and PTO are so successful. Our students certainly had a wonderful year filled with educational experiences and fun activities. Just to name a few Fall Festival, Family Night, Assemblies, and this coming month Play Day, Elementary Challenge, Fifth Grade Finale and grade level field trips. Our PTO is proud to support these activities and events for our students. We would like to take this time to wish everyone a safe and happy summer and we’ll
see you in September!!
Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 5th at 9:15 am in Room 145 .
