CALL TO ORDERSeana McPherson, PTA Co-President, called the meeting to order at 9:45 a.m.in the PTA trailer.
MINUTES-REVIEW AND APPROVAL –Seana McPherson, PTA Co-President, reviewed the minutes from the November 4, 2016 meeting. There were no questions or discussions. The minutes were approved as submitted.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Jennifer Heinz, Treasurer, reviewed attached reports.
Arts: Eunice Chou, VP
- Arts in Ed—RealtoJazz coming December 19.
- Reflections—1st place winners from county going on to state.
- Talent Show—Dec. 7 is committee meeting. Applications will be sent electronically this year to 4th/5th graders.
- Starry, Starry Night—ordering trophies and getting ready.
Communications: Courtney Baum, VP
- Laura Cole is working on a recruit for her job next year.
- Working on article.
Health/Environment: Cayman James, VP
- RRR-Meeting soon to discuss Earth Week
- Safe Routes—Idling survey completed week before Thanksgiving;still considering more Walk to School Days
- School Beautification—Indoor decorations will be changed over the next week.
- Starburst—working on feedback/suggestions following this year’s event
Publications: Tori Hammett, VP
Yearbook on target for next deadline.
Family/Community Outreach: Tonya Walter, VP
- Toy Drive begins Monday.
- C,C,C Drive counts: 214 canned goods, 131 boxes, 18 carseats, 47 coats
- Box Tops—trying new advertising methods for Star News.
Finance: Susan Moss, VP
- B&N Night went well last night
- Spirit Wear--Ashley Rash has made enough designs for the next few years. Spirit Wear will be available in May this year!
- Silent Auction—Feb. 22; committee working hard
Staff/Student Services: Melanie Willenborg, VP
- Still need a coordinator for Ms. Ramsey’s class.
- Dec. 9—Immigration Day
- Jan. 12—handprints for 5th graders
- SAW—March 3 set up day
Academics:GenaRouille, VP
- Science Fair committee working hard and on top of everything.
- March 13—Tanglewood Marionettes performing Dragon King.
PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
- BronGayna thanked PTA volunteers and commended All Pro Dad and the growth of their program.
PRESIDENTS’ REPORT
- Seana requested that VPs touch base with our newer committees a little more frequently to ensure everyone has what they need and are on track!
