We’ve decided to tweak our approach to meetings and addressing conservation issues on campus in an effort to make more efficient use of our meeting time and to try and be a little more productive. Beginning with this meeting, we’ve decided to address a specific topic relating to sustainability as a group and work to develop a comprehensive report, including a current analysis and recommendations for improvements, to be passed along to the appropriate authority for review. Once the report is complete, we will move on to the next topic.
The first topic that we’ve decided to address is the campus’s recycling program. We spent this meeting brainstorming essential components to a successful recycling program and then divided up these components for further research. The first task is to research these components in regards to the current program. When we reconvene in December, we’ll present our findings and begin to compile a comprehensive analysis of our program as it exists today. From there we can move on with suggestions intended to improve the program in the future.
If you’re interested in working with us to address recycling on campus, I suggest that you make an effort to attend our next meeting, December 13th at 2:00pm. The location has yet to be confirmed.
