The Munster Band Gathering and Championships will be held in conjunction with Tralee Summer Festival (Feile na mBláth).

The contest will be staged in the Square, Tralee and will commence at 1.00 pm.

In addition to the normal contest an additional ‘crowd entertainment’ section will be held, consisting of a 3-5 minute performance of a bands own choice.

No official prize will be offered for this category as there are no set requirements for the event, just entertain people.

All bands, registered with the IPBA, performing will be paid an appearance fee of

€ 150.

Please note:

Bands will be designated a ‘Playing Time’ and the Pipe Major should ensure that the band is in the Final Tuning Area eight minutes prior to this time.

Any band failing to perform on time will suffer a loss to their attendance fee.

The final parade of bands will be themed the ‘Heroes’ Parade’ and will be staged as part of Heroes’ Week.

If a band wishes to travel to Tralee on Saturday 15th, it is possible that a paid gig can be arranged (contact Johnnie Sheehan 087/2314444).

If your band is not coming bring your pipes or drums and play.
