Full-time Community Support Individual
Position summary: Provide on-going individual and group counseling in our behavioral health clinic. Work as part of a team to assess immediate needs and risk issues of walk-in clients. Provide behavioral health assessments (intakes). Facilitate in-patient stabilization as needed. Attend appropriate trainings and team meetings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides individual and family skills training services
  • Provides community support services to enhance the strengths, skills, and natural supports of client and family.
  • Provides psychosocial support and psycho education to client and family to cope with behavioral health difficulties.
  • Provides case management services, including but not limited to coordination of services and communication between family and court personnel, attorneys, school, private parties, and public agencies regarding the needs of client and families.
  • Identifies the need for and facilitates crisis assessment and intervention for client and families.
  • Utilizes objective assessment measures to guide treatment needs and determine areas of progress (e.g., CAFAS, SASSI-A2)
  • Actively works to expand and refine services for clients with such risk factors as substance use, family and community violence, and long-term treatment.
  • Communicates with the referring party to understand and define the referral question.
  • Connects children and families with the appropriate resources within their communities, including referrals to other social services as needed.
  • Documents all interventions and case management activities in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Attends regular training, supervision, and staff meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field AND two or more years working with children, teens, and families.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field AND
  • Certified Addiction Recovery and Empowerment Specialist (CARES) certification or eligibility.
  • Experience with treating adolescent substance abuse and Multidisciplinary Family Therapy (MDFT)
  • Ability to interview consumers and/or families using established techniques.
  • Crisis management experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Clean MVR
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CARES Certification, Full or associate license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
