Here is the itinerary for the competition this Saturday. Students should be in the band room and ready to start practice at 10:00am, so make sure you are there early enough to get your instruments and/or equipment ready before 10:00am.

Please bring a heavy snack/lunch with you in the morning.

If you would like to chaperone the competition this Saturday, please email Linda Katzman at or Debbie Blackwell at . Please wait for them to confirm that you are needed as a chaperone.

Parents are welcome to meet us at Mooresville High School to watch the competition. There will be an admission fee. ______

Directions to Mooresville High School

Warning: The town of Mooresville is re-paving Church Street and has closed off parts of it. If you use GPS, it may take you to a dead-end. Below are directions for avoiding Church Street.

·  Take I-77 North of Charlotte to Exit 36; at end of ramp, turn RIGHT onto Hwy 150 (Heading East).

·  Go about 1.5 miles to Highway 3. (McDonalds will be on the left) Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 3 (Iredell Ave)

·  Go through town (across Main Street)

·  Turn right onto Statesville Avenue; Turn LEFT onto Center Street

• Buses – Before arriving at the school, you will turn right onto Blue Devil Blvd; a sign will point you toward parking at the Bus lot off of Blue Devil Boulevard

• Cars – Before arriving at the school, turn right onto Cedar Street; Go one block and turn left onto Cabarrus Avenue; Go one block and turn right onto S. Magnolia; turn left onto Edgemoor to get around the tennis courts; take the first left into the grass parking area.

10:00am Rehearsal at Hough

12:00pm Snack, Change into Uniform, Loading Procedures

1:00 pm Mandatory Meeting in Band Room (Students, Chaperones, Staff)

1:30pm Depart for Mooresville High School

2:00pm Arrive at Mooresville High School

Begin unloading procedures/Bathroom etc.

2:45 pm Fundamentals Block-Gloving

3:30pm Music Warm-up-Pluming

4:00pm Move to staging area

4:15 PM SHOWTIME!

Once our performance is concluded, Chaperones should meet band at the bus.

4:40pm Return to bus and load equipment truck. Students may change out of uniform in changing areas. Students should be given bottled water at this time.

5:30pm Report to Away Stands and be seated as a group in block formation to watch South Mecklenburg and Robinson High School

6:00pm Dinner Break

6:30pm Everyone is to be seated in block formation in away stands to watch bands perform. No one is allowed to go to the concession area.

7:30pm Quick Concession and Bathroom Break

7:45pm Everyone is to be seated in block formation in away stands to watch bands perform. No one is allowed to go to the concession area.

8:40pm Mooresville High School Band Exhibition. Everyone is to be seated in block formation in away stands to watch the band perform. No one is allowed to go to the concession area.

9:00pm Awards

Students will stand at parade rest during the A, 3A, 4A and 5A Awards. They may clap and cheer for their bands of choice. During our class they will stand at attention and clap for all bands. Students should expect to wear clothing that is appropriate for the weather. All students will follow this procedure.

9:45pm Load Bus and depart to Hough High School.

10:30pm Arrive at Hough High School.

Unload Equipment, Put Away Uniforms and Clean Band Room

10:50pm Roll Call

No one will be dismissed until everything has been completed.

Cell phones are to be put away out of sight. They will be confiscated if they are seen or heard. School policies regard cell phones will be enforced.

Solid Black Socks that cover up the calf of the leg. (No Footies)

Hornline and Drumline members need to wear a white t-shirt under their uniform as well as gym shorts.

Bring a change of clothing appropriate for the weather.

We will change out of uniform after our performance.

Bring money for food and beverages.
