Greetings,
Well, we are almost through week two and our Broncos have done a great job so far! A number of documents were sent home with your student over the past week and I encourage you to remind your middle schooler to give these to you the day they are sent home. Otherwise, these seem to be lost in the "Black Hole" we call book bags! I have listed these below for your reference as some are worth a free 100% informal grade if returned by September 15.
Blue Card - Important contact information that is used to update Power School
Emergency Dismissal Form - Used in case of an emergency to determine transportation
100% for Informal grade
1. Code Of Conduct Signature Form - Verification that you reviewed the CMS Code of Conduct
2. Honor Code - Policy related to plagiarism, cheating, or falsification of student work
3. Photo/Video Release - Approval for school use of these for your student
4. Summer Reading - Reading Log & Graphic Organizer are both worth a 100%
Curriculum Night will be held next Tuesday, September 12 from 6:30-8:15 pm. We will have three sessions so parents with students in multiple grades can go to each grade, as well as, all parents going to their child's Elective Classes. Please see attached flyer that was also sent home showing what rooms to report to for your student.Students should NOT attend Curriculum Night.
Finally, we have attached a school calendar with color highlights as something you can print and hang somewhere as a reference for events throughout the year. However, dates change so continue to review the Bronco Times calendar section for updates.
Create a Great Day,

Bailey Band Notes
We are very excited for the new school year! We had a wonderful past school year with Performing Band and Jazz Band earning ratings of "Superior" at MPA (Music Performance Adjudication). In 11 years, the bands have earned 20 ratings of "Superior." We are very proud of our band students!
The officers for the Bailey Band Boosters include Jennifer Guerry - President, Debbie Blackwell - Vice-President, Lauren Lackey - Treasurer, Sally Brooks - Secretary, and Kristy Haney - Member-At-Large. We welcome the support and help of all band parents. If you are interested in joining the Bailey Band Booster Board, please contact Jennifer Guerry at .
It is not too late for rising 6th graders to join the band but we need to act quickly. Please contact Ms. Petersen at if you are interested. Sixthgrade is the only opportunity to join the band without having any experience. Bailey and Hough Bands work closely together and your child can be an important member of our band family.
Any band student with at least one year of playing experience is invited to join
/
Performing Band and/or Jazz Band. The membership forms are on the band web site. Students must maintain at least a "B" in band class, have good behavior, and attend as well as be on time for morning rehearsals. Performing Band will be going to MPA in March and Cincinnati, Ohio, in April. Jazz Band will be attending the UNC Charlotte 49er Jazz Festival and MPA.
The band program collects BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION and USED INK CARTRIDGES. (Please note: The Campbell's Soup label program has ended.) We turn these in to the respective programs to raise funds for the Bailey Band. Your child does not have to be in band for you to help. Please drop them off in the office for Ms. Petersen. Please link your Harris Teeter VIC card to #6111.
