Home Office check
We would also draw to your attention that, in order to fulfil Home Office requirements, we ask nominees to provide details of their nationality, and to declare whether or not they require permission to work in the UK. Once your nomination has been formally approved by the relevant senior manager you will be asked to send a scanned copy of your ID (passport (NB both the front cover with crest and personal details page/s) and visa, or other relevant documentation that demonstrates your ability to work lawfully in the UK, if required).
At the time of your first visit to the University or one of its partner institutions you will then be asked to bring the original of your passport (and visa, if appropriate) with you for a visual check of your identity. Failure to provide this documentation may jeopardise your attendance at the meeting and we will be unable to process your fee or expenses payment until the check is complete.
Please note that this check must be completed for all nominees, not just those who are non-UK nationals, in order to be able to demonstrate that our procedures are not discriminatory. We would ask for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
