There’s something for everyone this summer, with a full range of activities funded by East Herts Council taking place for young people throughout the district. Why not beat the boredom and get a few exciting activities for them to look forward to in the diary now?

Activities on offer include tennis camps, dinghy lessons, arts, crafts, drama and lots more. Many activities are free and all have been subsidised by East Herts Council.

Funding round for grants is open

East Herts Council is pleased to announce that its Community Grants Programme 17/18 is now open. We are accepting applications for grants up to £8,000 to help community/voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations deliver projects or activities that will improve residents’ health and wellbeing. The funding could be used to pay for building works, green space improvements and sports or play equipment as well as operational costs associated with running an activity (e.g. hire costs, publicity materials, training for volunteers etc)

Young people between the ages of 11 to 18 can apply to a themed fund around performance to excellence in sport.

The application process and criteria has changed, so please go to www.eastherts.gov.uk/grants for details. The deadline for applications is Monday, 2 October 2017. Late applications will not be accepted.

Every day we hear from people who need a helping hand when it comes to understanding complex health and social care systems.

The Patients association helpline - we’re here to help

You can call us confidentially five days a week 9.30am — 5pm, no matter where you are in the UK or how simple or complicated your enquiry is.

We can provide information and advice on areas including:

 Concerns about your care or treatment

 How to access your medical records

 Making a complaint

 Finding a dentist or GP

If we cannot answer your query, we will do our best to signpost you to an organisation that will be able to help.
