NPD Technologist

PROPERCORN are looking for a NPD Technologistto join their growing London based team.

The Person

This person will be an enthusiastic and creative foodie, who is looking for a fresh challenge within the food industry. With a proven track record inquality management and exposure to the food manufacturing environment, they will be a strong relationship builder and combine creativity with practicality in their approach to coming up with innovative new products, flavours and packaging formats. To ensure we can bring all of our amazing ideas to life, they will be a highly organised self starter, with a keen eye for detail and a good understanding of the end to end NPD process. This role will suit someone who enjoys challenging the norm and is constantly looking for new sources of inspiration to raise the bar.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • To come up with innovative new products and create product development briefs based on consumer insights.
  • To excite and educate the PROPERCORN team by sharing insight on new food, flavour and ingredients trends.
  • To ensure PROPERCORN are recognised as the thought leaders in food trends.
  • To manage the NPD process for new products from concept to launch.
  • To ensure we are always challenging ourselves to improve our existing product quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Setting the quality standards for entirePROPERCORNcollection.
  • Leading monthly NPD innovation and ideation sessions.
  • Running competitor benchmarking sessions and sharing relevant market insights with the team.
  • Building and maintaining an extensive internal and external network within Technical, Marketing, Operations and Manufacturing, to enable effective project delivery and process improvement.
  • Seeking inspiration from wider product categories and industries to drive innovation.
  • Continuously challenging the waywe do things and suggesting how we canimprove the customer experience.

Requirements

  • Genuine passion for food, eating, ingredients and packaging.
  • In depth knowledge of NPD project management and critical path management processes.
  • Practical experience and understanding of a broad range of processes and manufacturing methods.
  • Some experience in technical management or quality management would be great, but not essential.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness.
