JOB TITLE SERVICER/CLEANER SALARY RANGE $13.96-19.29/hr
NATURE OF WORK
Perform routine cleaning and servicing work on all vehicles owned and operated by Spokane Transit. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Inspect exterior of vehicles for tire serviceability, damage to coaches/vans and noticeable safety defects. Check tires for excessive wear or damage and maintain proper air pressure. Fuel vehicles and maintain appropriate records; check defect cards; and vacuum interior of coaches. Monitor and maintain essential fluid and lubricant levels, including engine, transmission oil; and check engine oil leaks, transmission torque leaks, water leaks, and antifreeze leaks. Hand wash vehicle or prepare exterior and drive vehicle through automatic washer; and park vehicle in storage. Remove cashbox, empty and reinsert. Close out fuel pumps and take appropriate readings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Training and Experience: Six months of related work experience in a mechanical field, diesel or vehicle maintenance, or related work; or experience which clearly demonstrates the applicant's ability to assume the duties and responsibilities of the position. Experience must include a minimum of five years of motor vehicle operations.
License: Valid driver's license from Washington or Idaho and the ability to obtain the required Commercial Driver's License, within a specified time, as determined by Spokane Transit.
Physical Capabilities: The physical activity of the position requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, reach, walk and grasp. Specific requirements can be obtained by reviewing a copy of the complete job description.
Work Environment: The work is performed in the bus garage, and you may at times be exposed to dust, paint and diesel fumes.
Computer Skills: Must have basic math and computer skills to record related data.
SELECTION FACTORS
Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in servicing Spokane Transit’s vehicles. Ability to rapidly learn the activities and procedures related to the duties and responsibilities of cleaning and servicing diesel vehicles. Ability to establish and maintain good employee relations.
