ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Job Purpose & Responsibilities:

Job Purpose:

·  Responsible for treasury management for the Group companies including daily cash operating, bank reconciliations and administration.

Responsibilities:

·  To prepare daily cash schedule for the Group and advice Project Managers of stage payments.

·  Assisting with bank reconciliations.

·  Cash management on SAGE, e.g. entering bank statements, etc.

·  To assist in the day to day processing of payments for Group companies by setting up payments on online banking system.

·  To liaise with Group Inter-Company finance staff to confirm balances, processing of Inter-Company payments from and to other Group businesses.

·  Ensuring payments have been properly authorised, checking bank account details are correct, etc.

·  To be vigilant at all times and to ensure controls are in place to minimise fraud and misappropriation of company funds.

·  To provide management with timely information and advice e.g. redepositing surplus funds in savings accounts, transferring money between accounts, etc.

·  Generate monthly cash reports and analysis for management.

·  To support the accounts payable function, including setting up payments, assisting with supplier statement reconciliations queries and assistance with employee expenses processing.

·  To support accounts receivable function including credit control queries and on-going cash flow management.

·  To work with financial accountants to ensure timely payments of all statutory liabilities.

·  To assist with monthly credit card reconciliations.

·  To assist in the preparation of forecasting models including quarterly forecasts and other ad hoc reporting as required.

·  To work alongside Payroll Accountants and ensure prompt payment on a monthly basis.

·  Going to bank on regular basis to lodge cheques, submitting applications for advance payment guarantees, sending fax transmissions to the bank, completing applications for new bank accounts, etc.

·  To constantly evolve and recommend process improvement within the current Treasury function.

·  Maintain record of all Advance Payment Guarantee notifications on Excel.

·  Constant monitoring of bank facility limits.

·  Filing all bank statements.

·  To asset in the preparation of monthly / quarterly VAT returns.

·  Associated office and filing duties.

·  Any other ad-hoc duties which may, from time to time, be reasonably required within the role.

Accounts Assistant - Person Specification

Criteria / Essential / Desirable / Assessment

Qualification/

Attainments / ·  Educated to "A-Level" or equivalent;
·  GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in Maths and English. / ·  Foreign language
·  (Part) ATI qualification (or equivalent) / ·  Application form

Relevant Experience

/ ·  Entering payments online for business purpose;
·  Experience in working with confidential / sensitive information;
·  Experience of cash management, reconciling banks, etc. / ·  Experience of Sage 500/1000;
·  Experience in working in a multi-currency environment;
·  Experience of working in a banking environment;
·  A minimum of 2 years accounts experience in a similar environment;
·  Solid understanding of basic accounting principles;
·  Experience of working in a business environment with a Finance team. / ·  Application form / Interview
